Liar, Liar paints on fire.
7 December 2018 | by hellraiser7See all my reviews

Another honorable mention in my book, it's once another lame crime story film that has propaganda written all over it, as it's making bad parenting to be the sole cause for ordinary people turning into a life of crime. I can understand it being a partial motivation factor but as for cause that really the fault of the perpetrator him or herself as they've made the choice themselves. They have a grocery list of the bad parent stereotypes from alcoholism, gambling, cheating, parting, negligence, etc. But what really makes this film bad is how their trying to make the main character whom to me is one of the worst main characters in all movie history sympathetic but miserably failing as he's not sympathetic at all, more like pathetic, he also got to be as Ed Harris from "Pain and Gain" puts it "One of the stupidest mother f....... on the face of the Earth."

The MST crew are at their best as usual, from seeing them tear down a short on Tractor farming which one of my honorable mentions on the shorts. It's just cracks me up on what they say at the end of it, on worshiping the Truck Farmer. And there are a lot of really memorable riffs in this one as they are really tearing down on the main character whom just gets worse by the minute. One of my favorite scenes is seeing the main character talk to the girl he's dating and starting a relationship with dishonestly, and the MST crew in places of the conversation keep saying, lie, double lie and any other terminology on lying. And in chorus the MST crew say "Liar, Liar, Liar!", they do this twice in the episode, it's just music to my ears.

And this episode has one of my favorite host segments, where Crow, Joel, and Servo are doing a Psych 101 like lecture in explaining the fractured psyche of the main character. And then a wind chime display shows up as we see all the parts of his fractured psyche which really cracked me up as it's true and justifies why the main character is the epitome of the word pathetic.

Nothing else to say except, all hail the mighty Tractor Farmers of the world!

Rating: 3 and a half stars.
