A different sort of bank robber...and, the same old cops!
30 September 2017 | by MartinHaferSee all my reviews

Detectives Calabrese (Tony Lo Bianco) and Jameson (Don Meredith) capture a bank robber near the beginning of the show. Alan Richardson (Larry Hagman) is not your typical bank robber, however. He's extremely nice, well mannered and slippery. Repeatedly, Richardson is able to escape and he's a very smart crook. Calabrese and Jameson spend the show looking all about California looking for the guy...a guy who folks really like despite his being a crook! This is no typical felon, that's for sure.

Calabrese and Jameson are a bit unusual in that these same characters show up in quite a few episodes of "Police Story". Normally, the show features a unique story with characters only seen once...or perhaps twice...in the series. This pair, however, show up five times...as if, perhaps, the network might have been considering them for their own show. It never materialized but all the shows featuring the pair were enjoyable and well made. Well made and well worth seeing.
