Storyline

Pete Nolan (Sheb Wooley), who'd been out scouting for the Army for the last couple of years, is back working for Favor starting in this episode, only to find himself falsely accused of rustling and murder. The local sheriff and some cattlemen, who've been victimized by the rustlers, are too willing to hang him quickly without any real trial. Favor and Rowdy try to find the real rustlers and save Pete from the gallows, though the trail may lead too close to a friendly rancher Favor respects. Written by rbecker28

Hot to trot for a lynching
20 May 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

When Eric Fleming is asked by Sheriff Frank Maxwell to ride around his particular jurisdiction in Kansas in this story, he had reason to think he should have listened. It might have been easier than what follows.

Gil Favor's herd gets clearance from the well respected Royal Dano who was a trail boss in his day and now has a big spread there and a young trophy wife in Judi Meredith. But then it's Sheb Woolley who comes upon some evidence of rustling and a killing and gets himself arrested for it.

I have to say that Maxwell and another rancher Douglas Kennedy seem really hot to trot for a lynching. Fleming and Clint Eastwood get to the bottom of it and some of it has to do with the trophy wife.

No fool at times like an old one.
