Catherine O'Hara returns for another great Christmas episode
This holiday special concerns Johnny LaRue broke and wandering the streets.
The first scene gets off to a very funny start as Guy sings The First Noel while angry LaRue barges in, angry over the Christmas bonus of a cornish hen! They end up in a fist fight and Gus tries to break it up. LaRue recalls getting his crane from Santa Claus last Christmas and lurches off looking for him again.
It's great to see Lola Heatherton again with her new special The Love Spirit. She sings a depressing song about loneliness and ends up with Juul at the end. Ed Grimly has an After School Special called The Fella Who Couldn't Wait For Christmas.
Edna Boil has a new Emporium with her new partner, her dog Rex. She shows off some other dogs in costumes walking on their hind legs. Count Floyd tells a scary Christmas story to some kids.
LaRue is out on the street again still searching for Santa. Mayor Shanks has a very Christmas lighting scene in his house.
The Schmenges have a film of them celebrating their holiday Leautonia style. This includes bringing an egg which the children have to find and the men exchange socks. There is a funny Pre Teen World as the group of kids do an off key song while a bored bunch of other kids kick them off the stage and go into a beautiful choir version of The Little Drummer Boy.
A drunken LaRue is helped out by a homeless guy played by musical guest Andre Crouch, a well known gospel singer. LaRue is brought to a Men's Mission where he is disgusted by the people food but inspired by Crouch singing We Are Going To See The King.
Then comes a hilarious special with Bobby Bittman and Jackie Rogers Jr. They share the stage via satellite with Bobby in Atlantic City and Jackie in Vegas. Bobby is injured by one of the jugglers in his opening act. They do very funny duets on show tunes from Annie and Evita. Libby talks about Chanukah with her friend Sue Bopper Simpson.
The final scene takes place in Guy's bedroom, he acts like Scrooge and you have to see the Christmas pajamas he wears. Gus, Lola, Juul, Edith and Grimly all show up worried about Johnny. He final shows up and they all wish us a Merry Christmas.
