  • Paul feels depressed when his divorce is finalized, so Carter feigns heterosexuality to help him play the dating game. Charlie and Caitlin have a flashback to their first meeting - in 1988 during a political event for Michael Dukakis.

  • Charlie and Caitlin's bickering over her problematic preference for high-profile boyfriends leads to reminiscing about their student days. It turns out he crushed into an elaborate but boring party she organized for Democratic presidential candidate Dukakis, which cost her posh fiancé Doug Smuckers after Charlie lured her fellow students into frat-style fun. Carter pities Paul depression now his divorce is formally pronounced and accepts to help out by double-dating as fake straight friend, only to find Paul's date is the least interested, his near-unshakable.
