  • Icheb (Manu Intiraymi) is one of the children rescued from a dying Borg cube in the episode "Collective." He shows growing independence and a strong aptitude for astronomy and astrophysics. His parents are located by the crew of Voyager on their home planet, which has been severely damaged by repeated raids by the Borg. Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) is conflicted about the young man's imminent return to his family and expresses her opposition to the proposal. Icheb himself resists the proposed return but gradually comes to accept his reintegration into his family and culture, which offers him great opportunities to contribute to their progress using genetic engineering. However, his parents' description of the child's abduction do not conform to the records obtained from the damaged cube, and Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) demands explanations. She discovers that Icheb is one of many genetically-modified children sent out as bait to infect the Borg with a specially designed pathogen. Icheb is saved from capture by Voyager and rejoins the crew.
