Storyline

Dobson, Hine's rep in the Middle East, flies back to London to persuade Hine to go for a large deal with Rashid, and the two fly back out. Rashid is preparing to sign a deal with a large delegation from France for missiles, jets and radar and is dismissive of Hine, who also receives scant support from the British Ambassador. Hine returns to London where the French offer is news to Gibb, surprised at hearing nothing of it through his channels. Together with Astor Harris and a delegation from Pendles they fly out; arriving in the Middle East, they pass the Ambassador being recalled to London. Dobson tells Hine of the rumours he has meanwhile been circulating, of the inferiority of the French equipment and also of Rashid's personal life - a mistress in France. Rashid is furious with Gibb and Harris, and Hine in particular over this, until Hine persuades him they were the work of the Ambassador and will, obviously, now stop; Rashid is brought round to giving the British the order for jet ...
