"Knocking on heaven's door" is the greatest single episode of all time

Even if your not a big fan of animation it's very important that you watch this episode at least once. It's simply a great peace of audiovisual art, pacing and choreography. Beautifully arranged in 24 minutes and finished with a shocking quote.

Every minute of this episode is made with the intention to making you cry.

This show is crumbling under the weight of it's own narrative

Warning: Spoilers
This show started pff simple, sure there were some lingering questions here and there, but now it's just too complicated. I've watched every episode of this so far, and every episode after the one where Unit 1 eats the Angel has left more questions than answers. Not only that, but the explanations just more the questions increase. It started off as just giant robots fighting monsters, and now it's entered existential crisis mode where everything causes the characters to ponder their existence and blah, blah, blah. I'm really hoping "Death and Rebirth" can answer some of these questions better than the show can. If not, than this series has officially crashed and burned with me.
