  • In the 1580's English colonists arrive in what was to become North Carolina and find supernatural terror.

  • English colonists arriving on Roanoke Island in 1587 find the fort built years before deserted. Soon after members of the colony begin to die in horrible ways. Leader Before returning to England for provisions, John White puts his son-in-law Ananais Dare in charge, and Dare realizes the island is haunted by Norse spirits. Enlisting the aid of a friendly Native American, Dare attempts to free the spirits from their earthly captivity before the entire colony is lost.

  • In 1587, a group of British colonists arrives in Roanoke Island and finds the local fortress deserted with the corpse of a suicidal hanged in decomposition and a warning written with blood on the ceiling. Ananias Dare is assigned to be in charge of the colony while their leader will bring supplies. Sooner Ananias learns that the forest is haunted by evil spirits that feed themselves of human soul and that they are chasing his new-born daughter that has a pure soul.

Synopsis

  • In this tale based on the lost North Carolina colony of Roanoke Island the colonists are attacked by three wraiths. The acting governor tries to understand what is happening while the people are being killed off. Finally piecing together half remembered Norse legends and local Native American tales he realizes these are the spirits of 3 viking witches, trapped on the island with the colonists. Can they find a way to end the siege and survive the winter when even the forest is controlled by the wraiths?
