Storyline

An unflinching look at the struggles of a father and his two sons as they attempt to salvage their long estranged relationships. When a man, who has "come home to die," appears on their doorstep, the tension between the men reaches a boiling point and without fully realizing it they find themselves standing on the threshold of life and death, struggling to find their relation to it... and each other. Inspired by life and set in the hauntingly beautiful desolation of a New Jersey shore-town in the off- season. Written by Joseph Christiana

Real rating 1.6/10

I had the misfortune of watching the full version of this movie when it used to be available here. The creator decided to remove the film so nobody could see it anymore and then doctor the voting until the rating became more respectable - this is something he has gone on record berating other film makers for doing. The actual undoctored rating was something like 1.6/10 and was so for ages. That rating was certainly fair as it is an ill-judged, poorly shot, pretentious mess of a movie. I don't imagine many of you will ever get the opportunity to view "The Dying Light" but should the opportunity somehow avail itself I strongly suggest you make your apologies and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction and find the nearest bar!
