Storyline

Charlie is disappointed to find Alan isn't surfing for porn, like any healthy bachelor, but his own brother uses a dating service. Still good soul Charlie accepts to play the poor in-living brother when Alan's first date comes, and so has a farewell dinner with his adoring and unavoidable stalker Rose, who tells him she's leaving for London because of her rich family's business interests. Jake is pissed at his uncle for not making his ideal tutor stay, Berta feels he's missing out on an ideal mate. Alan's date Beverly turns out tower-tall and another romantic serial looser, so bad even he looks like a good catch, but she has a secret fetish. Charlie believed Rose was only pretending, still goes tell her not to leave, he digs her; next he is horrified to find her house really empty... Written by KGF Vissers

Goofs

Jake, reading from a book, tells Berta that a vomitorium is a place where ancient Romans could eat all they wanted, throw up, then eat some more. A vomitorium is actually a series of entrance or exit passages in an ancient Roman amphitheater or theater and has nothing to do with either meals or purging. See more »

Come Back, Rose, Come Back!
13 February 2007 | by SylSee all my reviews

I hoped it was not the last time that we see Melanie Lynskey on this show as Rose, Charlie's longtime stalker. It was heartbreaking to think that she was actually leaving. I still don't believe it. Like Charlie, I'm in denial about it. Maybe because Melanie is leaving for better or more things, but even those few minutes with her as Rose on the show was golden and one of the show's strengths. It was sad to see Charlie realizing that Rose maybe wasn't kidding. We're not quite sure. You can never tell with her. Maybe she'll come back in the future. Anyway, I always thought Melanie should have been recognized for her role as Rose at awards shows. The show should now focus on bringing back Holland Taylor regularly because she is always a scene stealer. So Melanie Lynskey, I wish you the best but hope this door doesn't stay shut for long.
