Ursula Le Guin dramatisations and doc coming to BBC Radio 4

The Left Hand Of Darkness and Earthsea are coming to BBC Radio 4, along with a documentary celebrating author Ursula Le Guin at 85...

Welcome to Ursula Le Guin month (April's just its use-name) on BBC Radio 4 and 4 Extra. A whole series of programming in celebration of the seminal Us author's work is coming our way over the next few weeks, including dramatisations of The Left Hand Of Darkness and Earthsea novels, as well as a documentary, Ursula Le Guin At 85.

For anyone who needs reminding, Ursula Le Guin has been creating some of America's greatest science-fiction and fantasy literature for almost half a century. From her childhood-favourite Earthsea series set in a world of mages and magic, to politically probing anarchist utopia The Dispossessed and sci-fi gender thought experiment The Left Hand Of Darkness, Le Guin has a string of modern classics to her name.

Film4 FrightFest's Amazing 2014 Line-up Announced! New Images Revealed!

The line-up for this year's Film4 FrightFest in London has just been announced – and boy, is it a doozy! Sporting a record-breaking 38 UK/European premieres and 11 world premieres, this August is going to be an exciting time in the genre calendar.

This year Film4 FrightFest will be moving from its previous home at Leicester Square's Empire Cinema to the nearby Vue Cinema (also on Leicester Square), prompting an ingenious reshuffle of the screening arrangements.

All main screen films will be presented at different times across three different screens, with two extra screens reserved for single-slot screenings of the various films hitting this year's Discovery Screens.

Frightfest 2014 – Full Line-up Announced

Film4 FrightFest 2014, returning for its 15th year, unveils its biggest line-up ever. Film4 FrightFest 2013 announces full line up; record 51 films, and more.

Are you ready for a spine-chilling global avalanche of Indian zombies, Israeli oldboys, vengeance-crazed Vikings, Swedish mesmerists, Irish telekinesis, Argentine undead, Aussie bone-crushers, murderous Mormons and Chilean assassins?

Film4 FrightFest 2013, returning for its 4teenth year, has unveiled its biggest line-up in history. From Thurs 22 August to Monday 26 August, the UK’s leading event for genre fans will be at the Empire Cinema in London’s Leicester Square to present 51 films on three screens. Empire 1 will house the main event while the Discovery strands will play in Empires 2 & 4. The new FrightFest Xtra strand, also in Screen 2, will allow fans to catch up with sold-out performances of the most popular attractions.
