Imps and Demons
30 March 2019 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Nigel Kneale has not just written a science fiction serial. He has mixed it with a belief in the supernatural or the occult.

Quatermass has seen marks inside the capsule in the previous episode and it ended with a soldier giving a piercing scream who claimed he saw something move inside.

Colonel Breen puts it down to claustrophobia. However when he brings in a civilian contractor to drill though this capsule, the acoustic shock disturbs everyone nearby.

A local journalist James Fullalove sneaks around the site and is on Quatermas tail as he and Dr Roney research the history of Hobbs Lane. It used to be known as Hob, another word for the devil.

Each time the ground has been disturbed throughout the history of the area, there have been sightings of some kind of manifestation.

The biggest shock is when the sealed compartment in the capsule is opened.
