Man of Steel’s David Goyer to tackle ‘Hellraiser’ reboot

David S. Goyer has been tasked to write and produce the upcoming reboot of ‘Hellraiser’ for Spyglass Media Group.

The original ‘Hellraiser’ was released in 1987 and was written and directed by Clive Barker, the horror followed sexual deviant Frank (Sean Chapman) who inadvertently opens a portal to hell when he tinkers with a box he bought while abroad. The act unleashes gruesome beings called Cenobites, who tear Frank’s body apart. When Frank’s brother (Andrew Robinson) and his wife, Julia (Clare Higgins), move into Frank’s old house, they accidentally bring what is left of Frank back to life. Frank then convinces Julia, his one-time lover, to lure men back to the house so he can use their blood to reconstruct himself.

As well as giving birth to the horrifying image of Pinhead, it went on to spawn nine sequels the first seven of which featured Doug Bradley reprising

Scream Factory Blu-ray Review Round-Up: Brainscan, The Unborn, Return Of The Living Dead Part II Collector’s Edition

  • DailyDead
The longer Scream Factory has been in business, the more high profile and “classic” titles they have released, the more they have begun to dig a little deeper for the kinds of catalogue titles and semi-obscurities for which devoted horror fans have been clamoring for years. As if there was any doubt, the fact that these three films now have special edition Blu-rays are proof positive that we are living in a golden age of home video.

Jessica Chastain Donates $2,000 to Woman Who Criticized Her Feminist Views

Jessica Chastain Donates $2,000 to Woman Who Criticized Her Feminist Views
Jessica Chastain is a girls' girl, through and through. On International Women's Day, hairstylist Renato Campora took a photo of the X-Men: Dark Phoenix actress with the message "We Should All Be Feminists" emblazoned across her T-shirt. To celebrate the movement's momentum, she re-posted the image on her Instagram account, captioning it, "Feminism: the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes." But one Instagram user, Karin Hallsten Schulz, responded critically to Chastain's image. "Yes, feminist that believe in God and stand up for The Unborn. I would be for that kind of feminist," she wrote in the comments. Showing compassion, Chastain spent time...

David S. Goyer is Not Going to Direct Masters Of The Universe

Art By Gerald Parel

After seeing an early piece of concept art that potential David S. Goyer was working on for the new feature film adaptation of Master of the Universe, I was pretty worried. It looked nothing like anything that would come out of the He-Man universe. That concept art has since been removed.

Well, I'm happy to report that David S. Goyer has dropped out of the running to direct the film due to other commitments, so Sony Pictures is still on the hunt. Hopefully, they'll bring someone on that will actually have an epic vision for the film.

Goyer wrote a script for Masters of the Universe and he turned it into the studio last fall. Apparently, the studio loved the script so much they wanted to lock him in as the director. The only films that Goyer previously directed were Blade: Trinity, The Unborn, and The Invisible,

Masters of the Universe Movie Begins Shooting This Spring?

After a few false starts and personnel changes, it looks like Sony's Masters of the Universe reboot is finally going to start production this spring. It was reported late last year that David S. Goyer is attached to co-write and direct the Masters of the Universe reboot, which still has an official release date of December 18th, 2019. Goyer is known for his screenwriting work on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, as well as Warner Bros.' Man of Steel. His previous directing credits include 2004's Blade: Trinity, the 2009 horror movie The Unborn and episodes of Starz's Da Vinci's Demons, which he created.

Omega Underground reports that Masters of the Universe will finally begin production this coming April. It isn't clear where the production will film at this time, but the report suggests Europe is a strong contender since Sony has recently filmed some of its recent larger movies over there.

Masters of the Universe Movie Targets Director David S. Goyer

Masters of the Universe Movie Targets Director David S. Goyer
It has been revealed that Sony and David S. Goyer are in talks to have the Dark Knight writer direct the Masters of the Universe reboot. It was announced earlier this year that Goyer had been tapped to write the script and now it appears that he'll be directing the reboot as well. The Master of the Universe project has been in development for years and has gone through many scripts and was reportedly close to getting off of the ground when McG was attached to helm the project, but Sony has been speaking to prospective directors since April of this year.

The Wrap reports that David S. Goyer is in talks to direct the Masters of the Universe reboot, which still currently has an official release date of December 18th, 2019. Goyer is known for his screenwriting work on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, as well as Warner Bros.

Masters Of The Universe reboot lands a new director

Mike Cecchini Simon Brew Dec 1, 2017

David Goyer looks set to bring He-Man back to the big screen...

The Masters of the Universe movie is still in development, and apparently much closer to production than we thought. The movie currently has a December 18th 2019 release date.

This one has had a revolving door of directors and writers. The most recent director to exit was McG, and his exit was followed by the entrance of David Goyer as writer.

But now it appears that Goyer is also directing, as per a report in The Wrap. Goyer is, at the very least, a good choice to write this. His incredible attention to the worldbuilding of Krypton in Man Of Steel makes me wonder what he could do with Eternia. The last feature he directed was 2009's The Unborn, and he previously helmed Blade: Trinity.

As far as I know, the previous script was

David S. Goyer is in Talks To Direct Masters Of The Universe

Masters of the One film project that I've been looking forward to seeing one day. It's been in and out of development for years and I've been hoping to see a great director attached to it. The last director who was developing it was McG, but thankfully that fell apart. Now, according to The Wrap, David S. Goyer is in talks to direct it.

I have mixed feeling about the possibility of Goyer taking on the project. He's written some great films like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Dark City. But then he's also written some turds like Jumper and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. As far as his directing resume goes, he directed Blade: Trinity, The Unborn, and The Invisible, which I think were all pretty mediocre films.

Now, Goyer has written the most recent draft of the script for the film, which is fine. But, I
