Final Destination Franchise Reboot Greenlit with Saw Writers

Alec Bojalad Jan 12, 2019

New Line is bringing back one of its longest running and most successful horror franchises, Final Destination.

Let this be a lesson: Death never gives up.

New Line Cinema, now a subsidiary of WarnerMedia, is attempting to cheat death one more time and bringing back the Final Destination franchise. Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, writers of four of the Saw movies, will pen the script. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.

The first Final Destination film debuted back in 2000 and told the story of a group of high school students who elect not to board a plane to Paris after one of them has a premonition the plane will explode mid-air and kill everyone aboard. The plane does explode. Unfortunately, Death having been cheated out of securing some souls does whatever it can to kill the remaining would-be plane explosion victims.

Why Final Destination 6 Probably Won't Happen According to Tony Todd

Why Final Destination 6 Probably Won't Happen According to Tony Todd
Tony Todd says he knows why we might not ever see a Final Destination 6. Todd went on from the Candyman horror franchise to the Final Destination series, where he starred in the first two installments as the mortician who warns the kids that they can't cheat death. Todd had a voice cameo in the third movie and hasn't been involved with the franchise since. However, he was confident back in 2011 that the sixth installment was going to happen.

The Final Destination movies all received mixed to negative reviews upon their respective releases, but they did make a decent amount of money at the box office and they were praised for the inventive premise. A lot has changed since 2011 when Final Destination 5 was released. The horror genre is going through a resurgence with movies that can often be made on a small budget. When asked about Final Destination 6 in a new interview,

Wish Upon Review

Author: Linda Marric

Playing with the whole “creepy inanimate object” trope which has seen a resurgence of late, Annabelle director John R. Leonetti is back again with another murder by numbers horror B movie which is set to either infuriate, or have its audiences in fits of laughter. Written by Barbara Marshall, Wish Upon doesn’t really try to be anything but exactly what it is. Its formulaic narrative, coupled with predictable jump-scares and cheesy dialogue may not bring anything new or innovative to the horror genre, but no one can deny the entertainment value of its slapstick sensibilities.

17 year old Clare (Joey King) has not had the easiest upbringing, having witnessed the suicide of her mother aged only five. The teenager has since suffered daily bullying at high school where she is mocked by the popular kids and largely ignored by her longtime crush Paul (Mitchell Slaggert). Her father

Snakes on a Plane Becomes a Reality for Terrified Airline Passengers

Snakes on a Plane Becomes a Reality for Terrified Airline Passengers
Earlier this summer, the cult hit Snakes on a Plane celebrated its 10th Anniversary, and as implausible as that movie was, it just became a reality for a group of Mexican airline passengers. During an AeroMexico flight from Torreon to Mexico City yesterday, passenger Indalecio Medina posted a video to social media, which shows a massive snake, believed to be a venomous green viper, falling from an overhead compartment to the main cabin. The plane was given priority clearance to land in Mexico City so that animal control could properly remove the snake.

While it still isn't known how the snake even got on the plane, Upi reports that Indalecio Medina captured the snake in a blanket and gave it some "magazines to read." He also posted another brief video on Twitter that shows animal control workers removing the snake. Here's what a representative for AeroMexico airlines had to say in a statement.
