A New Teaser Trailer Has Been Released For Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon has released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming The Boys, a new series set for the streamer in just a couple of months. The subversive superhero series will debut on Friday 26th July exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories.

The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven, and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes and covers up all of their dirty secrets. The Boys are Hughie, Billy Butcher, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie, and The Female. Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) guest stars as Hughie’s father.

‘The Boys’ Trailer: Amazon Gets an Edgy, Bloody Superhero Show All Its Own

Lest anyone think the latest Amazon series “The Boys” would back off the violent undercurrent in Garth Ennis’ original comic series, know that within a minute of the start of the Prime Video series’ trailer, a guy gets his head smushed like a watermelon. (Assuredly not for the faint of heart.)

Executive produced by the team of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the show follows an unlikely pair of warring superbeing teams. With “The Boys,” the twist is that the antihero group of the show’s title, led by Bill Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) is going after The Seven, a more recognizable squad of would-be heroes who are found to be misusing their powers.

The creative team pedigree extends to showrunner and “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke and pilot director Dan Trachtenberg, who was previously behind the camera for “10 Cloverfield Lane” and the “Playtest” installment of “Black Mirror.

Bear McCreary To Score Child’s Play Reboot, Here’s A Preview

The Child’s Play reboot began life under a cloud, with longtime fans of the series dismayed that the film discards the mythos of the series in favor of a new approach. Creator Don Mancini criticizing the project, feeling that it steps on the toes of his own in-development Child’s Play TV show, was enough to put off most fans. Those bad feelings were further cemented when it was confirmed that Brad Dourif wouldn’t be doing the voice of Chucky, and again when we got our first glimpse of his new design.

But, as the June release date ticks closer, things have started to look a bit more positive. For one, the new trailer was actually pretty good, and then they announced that none other than Mark Hamill would be voicing Chucky. Alright MGM, you’ve got my attention.

Now, the studio has released a clip from Bear McCreary’s score.

The Uncharted Movie's Actor Shortlist For Sully Includes Chris Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Chris Pine and More

Sony’s feature film adaptation of Uncharted is moving into the casting phase and director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is looking to cast the role of Nathan Drake’s mentor, Victor "Sully" Sullivan.

Thanks to That Hashtag Show, we have the shortlist of actors that are up for the role. While we were all hoping that Bryan Cranston would take on the role, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the case.

The studio is said to be looking for actors between the ages of 40 and 49 and they are currently looking at Chris Hemsworth, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Pine, and Woody Harrelson. Out of all those choices, I’d have to go with Harrelson. He seems like the best fit for the role out of that list.

Obviously, the reason why they are going with a younger version of the character is because the Uncharted film

New Birds Of Prey Set Pic Reveals Huntress’ Full Costume

If Harley Quinn has been angled as the beating heart of Birds of Prey, Warner Bros. and Cathy Yan’s female-fronted spinoff, then Huntress and Black Canary are the big-name supporting players.

They’re so big, in fact, that WB is said to be mulling over the possibility of full-blown spinoff movies for both Huntress and Black Canary, who will be brought to life by Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) and Jurnee Smollett-Bell, respectively.

Their addition was undoubtedly a major casting coup for Birds of Prey, which looks set to become one of Warner’s flagship properties for 2020, with The Batman and The Suicide Squad set to arrive the following year. And because principal photography is well underway, another set pic has emerged from Cathy Yan’s all-star spinoff, which brings us that little bit closer to Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Helena Bertinelli – better known to you, I and

Sundance 2019 Review: I Am Mother is a Thoughtful Examination of the Human Condition and the Dangers of Technology

  • DailyDead
As a fan of contained and intimately crafted science fiction stories, I was enthralled by Grant Sputore’s unique examination of the human condition and morality in I Am Mother, his stunning feature film debut. Evoking similar feelings I had while watching films like 10 Cloverfield Lane, Moon, Ex Machina, I Am Mother strikes a perfect balance, delivering up an intriguing slice of post-apocalyptic sci-fi coupled with a thoughtful character study that finds new ways to explore the dangers of technology and how it relates to all of humanity as we continue to transition towards greater leaps in automation and electronic sciences.

I Am Mother introduces us to a world where there has been a cataclysmic event that has wiped out all of humanity. Inside a remote bunker, a highly evolved robot named Mother (voiced by Rose Byrne and performed by Luke Hawker) has been tasked with bringing new life
