Titanoboa Movie Coming Resident Evil Team

Kirsten Howard May 23, 2019

The Meg's success has got some people wondering if there's gas in the oversized snake tank.

Resident Evil franchise masterminds Constantin Film and Jb Pictures have got a Titanoboa movie in development. The movie is looking to The Meg for inspiration as it plans to feature the giant extinct snake coming back from the dead somehow to wreak havoc, likely on some wholly unprepared humans.

The Titanoboa movie is being fast-tracked, according to Deadline, and will begin filming next year. There are no cast details to share with you yet, but Tony Giglio is penning the script right now. Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer, the team working to make Monster Hunter a success, are behind the film.

The biggest snake in noted history, the Titanoboa has been long dead for about 58 million years, but back in its heydey it weighed about 2,500 lbs and grew up to 42 ft long,

‘Resident Evil’ Duo Constantin & Jeremy Bolt Team For Action-Horror About Giant Snake The Titanoboa

  • Deadline
Exclusive: German powerhouse Constantin Film and U.S. outfit Jb Pictures are fast-tracking development on an as-yet-untitled action-horror movie based on the re-emergence of giant snake the Titanoboa. Think The Meg with serpent scales.

Jb Pictures’ Jeremy Bolt and Constantin’s Robert Kulzer are producing the film, which is slated to shoot in 2020. Constantin’s Martin Moszkowicz is executive-producing. This is the same producing team behind the smash Resident Evil movie series and the upcoming franchise hopeful Monster Hunter, another video-game adaptation starring Milla Jovovich.

Tony Giglio, second unit director on Resident Evil: Afterlife and writer-director on upcoming live-action first-person shooter update Doom: Annihilation, is aboard to write the screenplay.

The Titanoboa is an extinct species of giant snake which lived in northeastern Colombia. They could grow up to 12.8 m (42 ft) long and reach a weight of 1,135 kg. The reptile existed around 58 to 60 million years ago and is the largest snake ever discovered.

He’ll also serve as executive producer alongside Eric Tomosunas of Swirl Films. Producers are Carol Shine (Blackhouse) and Chris Beal.

The book is about two strangers who push the limits of fear, devotion, and the law, as they attempt to catch a glimpse of their future — in only one night. Allen Sowelle and Eric Jerome Dickey wrote the screenplay.

“Eric Jerome Dickey has made a legendary career out of capturing the imagination of a generation by creating diverse characters who face challenges in love and life,” said Kodjoe. “I’m honored that he entrusted me to lend my vision to his world.”

Doom: Annihilation Trailer Teases More Demonic Action

After 2005’s Doom bombed hard at the box office, the video game franchise has largely stayed away from the medium of film, but if Resident Evil can yield at least six commercially successful features, then there’s no reason to think that its fellow action-horror property doesn’t have at least one profitable movie in it.

Enter Doom: Annihilation, which has set itself the more modest goal of a direct-to-video release, and is headed for small screens some time in the fall. To tease the Aliens-style action that’s in store, Bloody Disgusting has premiered a new trailer, and sadly, the response so far isn’t looking too promising, with many criticizing the low-budget look and the questionable dialogue. Still, 30 seconds isn’t a lot to base to a judgment on, and anything as no-frills in its demonic action as this movie looks to be is bound to find some kind of audience.

Monster Squad: The Most Terrifying Mutants from the Resident Evil Franchise

Author: Matt Rodgers

With the home entertainment release of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter acting as punctuation to Paul W.S. Anderson’s cinematic adaptation of the Capcom console phenomenon, it’s time to open a creaking door, descend a ladder, or put a pin code in a panel that you’ve taken five hours trying to work out. We’re here to round up the most horrific beasts from the film franchise, in order to make up our own Resident Evil: Monster Squad.

Resident Evil: Extinction – Sony Pictures Zombie Crows – Resident Evil: Extinction

So often the harbingers of doom (see Game of Thrones, The Omen), the crow qualifies for this list above your average moaning zombie, or blood stained undead Doberman, not because it was one of the most difficult things to shoot in the video game, but because it plays on the long-dormant fear of birds that we

Resident Evil Reboot Brings in Producer James Wan

Resident Evil Reboot Brings in Producer James Wan
Yesterday, we reported that German production company Constantin Film, which holds the rights to the Resident Evil franchise and produced the first seven movies, is now planning a Resident Evil reboot, which the company is hoping will span a six-movie franchise. Today we have even more details about this reboot, with iconic filmmaker James Wan coming aboard to serve as a producer. The project will also be written by Greg Russo, with this new report confirming that it will have an entirely different cast, although no one has signed on to star yet.

Deadline reports that James Wan will produce alongside Constantin Film and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster. There is no director for the project yet, but with a writer and producer now aboard, the project seems to be moving forward rather quickly, so that may change soon. However, there is no release date in place, and this reboot

6 Things You Should Probably Know About Prison Break's Wentworth Miller

6 Things You Should Probably Know About Prison Break's Wentworth Miller
Wentworth Miller is best known for his ridiculously good looks and his role as Michael Scofield in Fox's Prison Break, but there's so much more to him than that. Like, did you know that he has a bachelor's degree from Princeton University, or that he's starred in not one, but two Mariah Carey music videos? Read on to get to know more about the star in six quick facts. Wentworth is a dual citizen. He was born in England to American parents and moved to Brooklyn when he was just a year old. Each of his parents have at least three different ethnic backgrounds. "My father is black and my mother is white. Therefore, I could answer to either, which kind of makes me a racial Lone Ranger, at times, caught between two communities," he previously told GQ Germany. His dad has Jamaican, African-American, Jewish, and English ancestry, while his mom is Russian,

Game Theory: Paul W.S. Anderson and the Filmic Board Game

  • MUBI
Raúl Ruiz’s 1980 short film, Snakes And Ladders, follows H as he begins playing a board game where the world around him gradually becomes the board. H comes upon two men playing ludo on a table and as he joins in, the field of play continuously grows, moving from the tabletop to Paris, Europe, the world, and finally all of existence. H’s movement in the game becomes the work of chance governed by the roll of the dice and as he progresses he gradually comes to realize that he is the die, and that he is the game piece being moved about on the map. The cosmic forces controlling H ultimately reach into the frame, emphatically presenting an author surrogate in the form of a hand. Director Paul W.S. Anderson creates filmic board games similar to Snake And Ladders without explicitly revealing his authorial hand. He leaves the author’s presence unstated,

The Highest Grossing Video Game Movies of All-Time

Luke Owen keeps track of the biggest video game movies…

To go along with our Highest Grossing Superhero Movies of All-Time list, I felt we should also keep tabs on the video game movie adaptation. Since their debut in 1993, they’ve mostly come with a bad reputation, bad reviews and often bad box office results. However, some have been genuine successes. Below are two lists collated from BoxOfficeMojo with the domestic and global takings for video game movie adaptations.

Note: We’ve not included Pixels as it’s not directly based on a game, but we’re happy to add it in if enough people complain (it would be high in both lists)…

Thn ranks the ‘Resident Evil’ series

For a series revolving around an undead apocalypse, there’s a brilliant irony to the longevity of the Resident Evil series. Fifteen years ago, Paul W.S. Anderson brought us the original film, which then went on to spawn five sequels. Like the T-Virus, the franchise has evolved and mutated over the years, with each sequel bearing less and less resemblance to its predecessor. Thankfully, the franchise has a legion of fans that even an army of Alice clones couldn’t match.

Now, six films, three directors, and over a billion dollars down the road, we have finally arrived at the end of our journey. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, will bring Alice back to where it all began an an epic climax to the twisted adventure we started back in 2002. Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, to face off against Wesker and the Red Queen for the last time, with some
