a new lodger at a lodging house causes consternation by her irregular comings and goings
12 August 2013 | by viccox-132-107250See all my reviews

Elderly long-term residents at the lodging house run by Mrs Cooper, who tries to rule with an iron fist, are happy to stay until a newcomer who is very free with her money leaves and returns at odd hours while never breaking the NO MEN rule. With several minor continuity errors, and late responses to cues, this early Boulting film maintains tension, and audiences can empathise even now with one or two characters portrayed. The plot line develops but is resolved close to the end. Peta Shelley plays it cool, and seems out of place until the reveal at the end of the film. Well worth a look if you get the chance, but don't expect too much.
