Quotes

[first lines]
Peter Griffin: Hi, it's me, Peter, your TV cartoon pal. You know, Lois has been bitching lately that I watch too much TV and don't read enough books. So I went to the library and picked up three books by the greatest author of the last thousand years, Stephen King. And tonight, I'd like to share them with you. We begin with a little tale called "Stand By Me", about four young boys who went looking for a dead body, and instead found... themselves... and also a dead body.

Not a Bad episode
24 June 2009 | by jts0405See all my reviews

The parody concept has really tired out as of late. The whole episode is based on parodies of Stephen King movies. This is probably just a filler, because they couldn't think of an original idea for an episode. The first parody of Stand By Me was really not that funny. It was just not as good as it could have been. The whole premise was to make Peter, Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland out like Will Wheaton, River Phoenix, Jerry O'Connell and Corey Feldman, which died really quickly. The second parody of Misery was just a complete unfunny episode to see. Brian and Stewie are the equivalent of James Caan and Kathy Bates. Stewie's performance really got on my nerves and just bored me to death. Then we finally close it up with a Shawshank Redemption parody. This was pretty hysterical and fit into Family Guy formula. The whole thing was just extremely hilarious. At least we got one good parody.
