Dark Tide (2012)
Kate Mathieson: For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to sharks. They're the most amazing and mysterious animals on earth. Last year Jeff and I tagged a female great white shark in Hunts Bay, South Africa, and we tracked her as she swam 11000 kilometers in 99 days to northwestern Australia. Despite the potential dangers, the unknown difficulties of the journey and the sheer distance involved, in the end she went back to the place she came from. In the end, she turned around and she went home.
Kate Mathieson: You're told your whole life that sharks are dangerous. And then finally you're under water and you see the very thing you were taught to fear. And it's perfect. My father once told me to be careful of the things we love most in the world. Because if you're not careful, that very thing can also destroy you.
Anti poaching officer: [At the beach, checking a parked vehicle] We've got a white Toyota pickup out of Miller's Point here. No plates. Looks like abalone poachers, over. But if they're out at Seal Island, there's a fifty-fifty chance they're not making it back, so send a tow truck, yeah?
