FX Pushes Drama Series ‘Trust’ to March in Wake of ‘All the Money in the World’

We’re going to have to wait a little longer to see Danny Boyle’s take on the Getty family kidnapping saga. When Ridley Scott make the decision to recast Kevin Spacey in his film about the same story, All the Money in the World, and maintain the film’s December release date, the FX drama series Trust was looming large. No doubt getting All the Money in the World out before the end of the year also had to do with awards consideration and box office, but a major concern for Sony Pictures was being beat by FX’s …

Scandal’s Kerry Washington Says She ‘Loved Saying’ That ‘Nasty Woman’ Line — and Gladiators Loved It Too!
Kerry Washington‘s alter ego Olivia Pope and the Scandal writers made a nod to Hillary Clinton on Thursday’s episode. And amid the current political news, Gladiators had lots to say about it on social media, particularly with many raising hands emojis.

“Because a woman in power is a nasty woman,” Pope told newly elected president Mellie Grant in a powerful pep talk on Thursday’s Scandal as Grant prepares to take the Oval Office.

Washington reacted to that “nasty woman” line while live-tweeting the episode, giving all the credit to the show’s writers. “All hail the @ScandalWriters

Exclusive Interview: Alex Chang talks Pao and Pete & Whitely: The Take Away

In an exclusive interview, Flickering Myth sat down with actor Alex Chang to talk his role in Pao and the hit TV comedy Pete & Whitely: The Take Away

How have your family reacted to your career choice and your successes in the entertainment industry? Was it always your dream to be an actor?

I think the first thing my parents thought was, why – which is an understandable response when first embarking on this particular career path. It can be unsteady work and didn’t exactly breed confidence from my family. Saying that though, as I’ve been working as an actor consistently and in a lot of ways proved to them, and myself, that I can indeed forge a career out of acting, they are my biggest supporters and fans which is lovely.

I was always a lover of music and used that as an outlet for a lot of

What Canceled TV Shows Most Deserve a Better Ending? — IndieWire Critics Survey

What Canceled TV Shows Most Deserve a Better Ending? — IndieWire Critics Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: If you could give one canceled show one extra season (if only to wrap things up in a better way), which would it be?

Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint), The Hollywood Reporter

It wasn’t that we were watching “Hannibal” just to see Bryan Fuller and company get to the events of “Silence of the Lambs,” but that was sure a fun thing looming on the horizon. The “Manhunter”/”Red Dragon” arc was probably the show’s most conventional, but it was all the more intriguing for that odd disconnect, of a frequently told story going through the mind of one of TV’s most original storytellers and

2017 Oscars: 5 Things We Learned From the Academy Awards Nominations
To quote American statesman Ron Swanson, "Awards are stupid, but they'd be less stupid if they went to the right person." The Oscars are far from a referendum on a movie's worth, and are much more reflective of the climate of Hollywood opinion than the actual quality of the nominees. But in that respect, we can still learn a lot about how the people making movies see themselves by looking at the big picture of Best Picture.

Anyone who's been playing armchair industry-insider over the past few weeks got a

Everything Steven Soderbergh Watched and Read in 2015

Displaying a transparency that few filmmakers of his fame and / or caliber would even bother with, Steven Soderbergh has, for a couple of years, been keen on releasing lists of what he watched and read during the previous twelve months. If you’re at all interested in this sort of thing — and why not? what else are you even doing with your day? — the 2015 selection should be of strong interest, this being a time when he was fully enmeshed in the world of creating television.

He’s clearly observing the medium with a close eye, be it what’s on air or what his friends (specifically David Fincher and his stillborn projects) show him, and how that might relate to his apparent love of 48 Hours Mystery or approach to a comparatively light slate of cinematic assignments — specifically: it seems odd that the last time he watched Magic Mike Xxl, a
