Storyline

Ringo can't concentrate on his crucial exams because Donna haunts him. Preparations for Elle's move go on, although Lucas can't really be with her even if he follows to New York, so she keeps doubting. Another pressing decision is whether to maintain the unproven complain against abusive Saffron, the answer being police-counseled mediation, where Saffron's version sounds convincing, followed by private threats. "She hit me and humiliated me in public. How am I meant to deal with that?"

The end is nearly nigh for Elle as she prepares for her departure to New York. There's a nice farewell scene between her and Paul, with a discussion about wine that acts as a metaphor for their relationship. Lucas knows that the end of their relationship is nigh as well but nobly chooses to hide the fact and let her go.Surprisingly, but in character, even though they're on the same side Paul and Lucas refuse to get cosy and continue to spar.

The teens that they could get in this episode head off to a biology exam:There's some nice matey repartee between Ringo and Declan, Ringo and Donna's near kiss is a sweet scene and the realisation that Ringo's exercises are the result of sexual frustration raises a smile. Saffron re-enters the show as part of mediation with Donna and puts in a smooth performance that dents the girl's confidence even more, leaving her a shell of her normal bubbly health.
