Unique and fun take on what wrestling games can be.
12 October 2017 | by OlicosmicSee all my reviews

With the great visuals, pretty awesome game modes, and fun, over the top arcade style gameplay, there's no doubt in my mind that this is indeed one of the most unique and funnest wrestling games I've ever played. As a veteran player of Smackdown vs. Raw and WWE '1X/WWE 2K1X games, I can safely say this is indeed the most unique wrestling game I've ever played. Not only with its over the top gameplay, but with the fact that every superstar and arena looks very action figure-esque, which works hand-in-hand with the gameplay. And the whole over the top gameplay and action figure-like visuals works perfectly for what type of game this is. Not only is it visually enticing, but it is incredibly fun. The game modes in this game are pretty awesome too. They're not perfect, but they work for this type of game. The gameplay itself is nothing short of pretty epic. I love how the superstars can jump 10-20 feet in the air with colored streaks behind them. I thought that was hilarious and super fun, as it gave me a real wow factor that made this one of the most unique and funnest wrestling games I've ever played. Not only that, but the visuals still looked great and very detailed, even on the wrestlers who look like action figures. The creation suite is pretty basic in this game, as all you can pretty much do is create a superstar, which at first, may sound boring, but considering that you can quickly set the move set, finisher, and an entrance all in the same place makes things seem less tedious and more feature filled, so it's probably the best version of standalone Create A Superstar that THQ has ever made. The game modes are pretty awesome as well. However, I'll be honest and say that completing all of the fantasy warfare matches did get boring after a while, but for the most part, it's still awesome. The Path Of Champions mode is great, as it's simple, yet immersive with its cutscenes. I like the fact that you can choose any of the 3 you want, so it doesn't seem too stale. It's not anything groundbreaking, but it's still a great game mode overall. Overall, this game is pretty great for what it is and i'm happy with it. This may or may not appeal to those looking for a real WWE '1X/WWE 2K1X game, as this game is completely different than any of those. But I can say with confidence that the over the top and fun gameplay, great visuals, awesome game modes, and awesome Create A Superstar mode makes this game one of THQs most awesome wrestling games they've ever made, as this game is a unique and fun take on what wrestling games can be.
