Goofs

When Annie Walker is faxing a set of documents as proof of an Iranian arms deal, the second page clearly shows the text to be in Urdu, which is the language spoken in Pakistan, not Farsi or Arabic. Moreover, the content of that page just happen to be quotes by one of Prophet Muhammad's companions, mostly about justice, kindness and fair treatment to women, and not proof of any arms deal. Quotes

Danielle Brooks: [agitated, to the bearded guy behind the steering wheel of her car] Put the fruit roll-up down! You have five seconds to get the hell out of my car, or I'm calling the police! Five, four,
[tries to look threatening]
Danielle Brooks: three...
Annie Walker: [running up to intercept] Danielle! Hold on! Hold on a second!
Danielle Brooks: Oh, my gosh! Thank God you came! I found this guy trying to steal my car!
[to Johnny:]
Danielle Brooks: What are you, the valet? Is this what you do for kicks? Joyride around, foraging for snacks?
Johnny Rahimi: [from car] What's a valet?
Annie Walker: It's okay...

the perfect mix of glam and action, with the loveliest actress of her time

Fool In The Rain. So, the producers were inspired by the titles of Led Zeppelin songs, and their version of the title was this Iranian guy on the run, carrying a teddy bear. It struck me while watching that it clearly warns "let not your daughter work for the CIA" if she is expected to give rides to bearded dark strangers picked up off the street.

Piper Perabo is, as always, fantastic. I especially like that the character is not portrayed as the street- fighter type. She has no special skills in defending herself. She seems to flail out and lose against opponents much stronger than her, then some cunning, and a lucky break, more or less... and Good triumphs over Evil after all. I find it to be more realistic than a kung fu trained hellcat. Notice the fight scene in this one. I mean that other girl, sure, that one's more than convincing as a rough chick, and Annie is clearly no match for her, so she had to use her wits.

Just one interesting side note, something that I've not commented on before:

Playing footsy. I've been noticing all through the season the shots of Annie's bare feet. Aw, by chance, I thought. Then, with the previous episode, my favorite up till now, what with the two girls trying to sneak away by taking off their high heels, it became clear that there is some devotee at work... in the script. This week, loads more, there is Annie's foamy foot in the bath, the gorgeous long-legged barefoot bikini sequence, and Annie's sister sliding, hiding the man's shoe surreptitiously under the bed with her clever foot. I wonder how many other viewers have noticed this trend? This is the ninth episode already, and footsie close-ups are regular.

Piper Perabo has the most amazing smile. It is just... well, wow, what can I say? That girl has got to be a national treasure. The bikini scenes reveal she is every bit the prime quality dream girl. Okay, The Raven knows the Secret Police is standing by with their nets to haul me off to the funny farm, so I am forced to sign off on that delectable subject...

A perfect mix of glam and action, the season so far. Top scores from me.
