Curiosity Uncovers Method Secrets and Discovers Secret Methods
28 August 2010 | by WeatherVioletSee all my reviews

First, in the City, when Mr. Glass plans to demolish the old Bijou movie house, the Man with the Yellow Hat, Curiuos George, the Doorman and Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund attempt to persuade Mr. Glass to change his mind.

Now, Mr. Glass, the owner, agrees to give the Man with the Yellow Hat, Curiuos George, the Doorman and Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund a chance to prove that his old Bijou movie house is worth saving on the condition that they put on a special screening. But first, they need to restore the lobby and seating area to working order.

Well, Andie, Stig, and Stew, Firefighter members of Rescue Squad 86, volunteer to assist the Man with the Yellow Hat, Curiuos George, the Doorman and Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund with the cleaning and renovating in order to restore the Bijou to its former glory, in the hopes that Mr. Glass will save the theater.

So, the team discovers a 35mm motion picture film copy of the Black&White Silent "Isle of Dinosaurs," one of Mr. Glass' favorite movies, and prepares to present this film to Mr. Glass on opening night.

While the Man with the Yellow Hat dresses in his three-piece yellow suit to serve as projectionist, then demonstrates to Curious George, who dresses as an usher, how a movie projector works, with Curious George creating shadows from the projection room onto screen with his toy plastic dinosaurs. And the Doorman dresses to serve as ticket agent, while Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund serves as custodian, and Andie, Stig, and Stew, Firefighter members of Rescue Squad 86 musicians, along with their Fire Chief, to round out the instrumental quartet to accompany the film.

So, what could go wrong besides having the film splice apart inside the projector, the popcorn machine to overflow with too many kernels, and the Firefighters quartet to play the incorrect sheet music, all while everyone tries very hard to please Mr. Glass, and try to clean up after that little "Movie House Monkey?"

-----

Next, in the City, Curious George, Professor Wiseman and the Man with the Yellow Hat meet Betsy and Steve and Aunt Margaret at the Fire Station, at which Andie, Stig, and Stew, Firefighter members of Rescue Squad 86, are holding a bake sale, for which Professor Wiseman donates a lop-sided cake, which causes Curious George to become ill when he samples it because although she's a genius at Science, Professor Wiseman has no idea how to bake correctly.

And so, when Aunt Margaret tells Curious George, Professor Wiseman and the Man with the Yellow Hat that Betsy and Steve's school is holding a bake sale, Professor Wiseman offers to teach Curious George how to bake carrot cupcakes to donate to the worthwhile cause, again, even though she's a genius at Science, but has no idea how to bake correctly.

Well, Curious George comes up with the idea to study Chef Pisghetti and Netti at their restaurant, in order to sketch their baking patterns, in order to tutor Professor Wiseman to bake the carrot muffins correctly. When Professor Wiseman takes Curious George to the supermarket to shop for carrots and baking supplies, Curious George shows her his illustrations of cooking spoons from the kitchen of Chef Pisghetti and Netti in order to guide her through the steps using the proper spoons.

Now, back in her kitchen, Professor Wiseman dumps flour, plenty of baking soda, plus a large mixture of salt and sugar, along with an egg and carrot shavings into a bowl, so that Curious George may experiment using his new mixing spoons.

But when the carrot muffins turn out rather inedible anyway, Curious George and Professor Wiseman visit the kitchen of Chef Pisghetti and Netti to learn that they follow recipes rather than to pour ingredients into mixing bowls haphazardly.

So, will the Man with the Yellow Hat arrives at Chef Pisghetti's Restaurant on time to greet Andie, Stig, and Stew, Firefighter members of Rescue Squad 86, and to see that Professor Wiseman's purchasing one of Chef Pisghetti and Nettie to present Andie, Stig, and Stew, and another to donate to Betsy and Steve's school bake sale in the event that all else fails while "Cooking with Monkey?"
