Teddy Duncan's middle-class family embarks on a plane flight from their Denver home to visit Mrs. Duncan's parents, the Blankenhoopers, in Palm Springs - all except daughter Teddy and mother Amy, for whom a cross country odyssey begins when a chance at free plane fare leads to a curtailed bus ride, a nightmarish experience in a Yugo, hitchhiking with a pair of alien abductees, and peddling through the desert on a tandem bike. During the airport scene the song 'Run Rudolph Run' is playing while the Duncan family runs to their gate. This could be hinting at the 1990 Christmas classic 'Home Alone' where a similar scene with the same song is shown. See more »

I thought this was a great movie to view with the family around the Christmas tree. I laughed several times. The only thing holding this back from 10 stars, is simply the fact of the acting. I think the series actors were better than this. Although the actors are the same, they performed differently. 8/10
