The 13th Annual Shriekfest Film Festival was taken by storm by director Brian Avenet-Bradley's film Malignant, and the good news is you'll finally be able to see the flick soon courtesy of Gravitas Ventures! We've been pumping out a steady stream of goodies for this one, and now we have the official artwork! Dig it!

Gravitas Ventures has acquired all U.S. and Canadian VOD rights to Malignant, the tense horror-thriller that was written and directed by Brian Avenet-Bradley (Dark Remains).

The film stars Brad Dourif (Child’S Play series, Lord Of The Rings series), Gary Cairns (Daylight’S End), Nick Nicotera (Dumbbells), and Sienna Farall (Insidious: Chapter 2). The film was produced by Laurence Avenet-Bradley (Dark Remains) and executive produced by Modernciné’s Andrew van den Houten (Jug Face, All Cheerleaders Die).

Gravitas Ventures announced that they’ve secured North American VOD rights to Brian Avenet-Bradley’s Malignant, a new horror movie where a rogue doctor (Brad Dourif) conducts human experiments in an attempt to cure addictions:

Granted, we're living in a post-Pain & Gain world, so any movie about gym culture made by people who aren't utter misanthropes is a breath of fresh air, but Dumbbells manages to be pleasant and largely inoffensive despite early indications that it might turn into a T&A-fest.

GoDigital picks up Dumbbells
GoDigital has picked up rights to the buddy comedy starring Carl Reiner, Tom Arnold, Jay Mohr (pictured), Jaleel White and Andy Milonakis and plans a January 10 2014 day-and-date release across multiple platforms.

Dumbbells also stars Taylor Cole, Brian Drolet, Mircea Monroe, Olivia Dudley and the models Fabio and Hoyt Richards.

Christopher Livingston directed the Full Blitz Entertainment story about a former star college athlete who must save his local gym. Drolet and Richards co-wrote the screenplay.

The Orchard in association with Mako Pictures and Fabrication Films will release the 2012 sci-fi film Paradox Alice in the Us, Canada, Australia and New Zealand on October 15 on digital platforms with DVD to follow.

Brian Drolet and Jordan Eubanks, writer and producer of the forthcoming comedy “Dumbbells,” are counting on this confluence of Hollywood randomness to intrigue movie buyers and future viewers. The buddy comedy, slated to be released in 2012 stars Drolet and Mircea Monroe and is directed by Chris Livingston. Actor Carl Reiner, a friend of the family, heard about the picture through Livingston, and also signed on. In fact, Eubanks and Drolet and producer Barry Katz made no bones about exhausting personal relationships and calling in favors, be it enlisting TV stars Tom Arnold and Jay Mohr, comedian Andy Milonakis or former “The Voice” contestant Frenchie Davis. In fact, it’s how they got their movie on Katz’s radar, who lent credibility and support to the story of a former basketball star who blows out his knee and is relegated to working in a rundown Los Angeles gym.
