Wild Eye Releasing has announced that the supernatural horror Asylum of Darkness – starring the late Richard Hatch alongside Tim Thomerson, Tiffany Shepis, Nick Baldasara, Amanda Howell and Frank Jones Jr. – is set for release next week. Take a look at the poster, trailer and synopsis here…

After awakening in a mental asylum, a patient plans his escape to freedom while fighting off supernatural forces in both the real world, and some that may only live inside his head. But once on the outside, he learns that the life awaiting him is more twisted and dangerous than anything he could conjur in his head, one that is luring him back to the asylum forever.

Asylum of Darkness is in theaters and on VOD in the States from April 11th, and is directed by Jay Woelfel (Season of Darkness, Trancers 6).

Director Jay Woefel (Closed for the Season) is set to premiere his latest horror feature Season of Darkness shortly. This is a psychological tale involving a patient who escapes from a psychiatric hospital. Dwight (Nick Baldasare) is mistaken for another when he is free, however. People see him as Artemus Finch and Dwight plays right along with them, in order to gain their favour. Dwight also desires Artemus' wife's affections. Events takes a turn for the worse when Dwight is plagued by guilt and by his memories. As seen in the trailer, shadows hound Dwight until he faces the demons within.
