Trivia

When Dot (posing as "Martha Driscoll") is being interviewed by Miss Gaskin for a factory position, Dot pleads her need for a job by saying "My mother has the influenza," to which Miss Gaskin replies sympathetically "My aunt died of influenza," the same sentence that begins Eliza Doolittle's comical scenes at the tea party in "Pygmalion" and at Ascot in "My Fair Lady." Goofs

At time index 1:43, the factory worker who dies at the start is introduced to Phryne as Daisy Miller by Dr Mac (the one person who should know better than anyone, as it turns out). Everywhere else, including the screen credits, she is referred to as Daisy Murphy. See more »

Quotes

Detective John 'Jack' Robinson: Any reason to think it's NOT an accident?
Phryne Fisher: The owner was very eager to get us out of there.
Detective John 'Jack' Robinson: That wouldn't have anything to do with you barging in there like a freight train, would it?
Phryne Fisher: I was a charming freight train.
