Storyline

At Deb's request, Batista locates Arlene Schramm, the witness who saw Hannah McKay kill a counselor in a halfway house. When Deb blacks out and has a car accident, she thinks she knows who might have been responsible. Dexter learns that the last of the men who killed his mother, Hector Estrada, is up for parole but has no objection as he has his own plans for the killer. Matthews has a chat with Dexter and tells him of Captain LaGuerta's theory about him being the Bay Harbor Butcher. Dexter is quick on his feet and Matthews believes him when he denies it all. When Estrada tell him that that a female cop pulled strings to get him his parole, Dexter quickly realizes LaGuerta has set him up. Quinn learns that Nadia has skipped town. Written by garykmcd

Dexter Morgan: Bye, Harrison...
Dexter Morgan: [narrating] But suddenly my future seems very possible. And growing old is not only a possibility. It seems appealing.

Amazing dialogue, wonderful to see how far the characters have developed
10 December 2012 | by abdul-muktadirSee all my reviews

In a nutshell, this episode was probably by far the greatest in this season; and characterised what is best about Dexter from all the amazing seasons. From the dialogues between Dexter and Hannah, which are raw and deep, to emotional scenes between Dex and Deb; the writers have done a fantastic job in really capturing the raw emotion that has developed incredibly during this season. The relationship between Deb and Dex has so masterfully been crafted right from season 1, to this season, where we have to admit this has to be one of the greatest character developments in TV history.

In many regards, this being the penultimate season, has really had to deliver a sucker punch of astonishing grip and emotion; safely speaking, this has surplussed all expectations. I genuinely can't wait for the last episode, it really does promise something incredible.
