The Babadook Director Gets a Release Date for New Movie The Nightingale

And today we have word that IFC Films have acquired her follow-up film The Nightingale. The new period survival drama is all set to unleash upon the masses on August 2, 2019.

Alec Bojalad Feb 21, 2019

Netflix has officially secured the rights to a film adaptation of the comic, The Old Guard. Charlize Theron and KiKi Layne will star.

Netflix has done the world a favor and found the next ass-kicking action role for Charlize Theron to play.

Rucka will write the script for the film and Gina Prince-Bythewood (Cloak and Dagger) will direct.

The Old Guard is an Eisner award-winning series from Image Comics. It tells the story of a group of ancient soldiers who have become immortal without explanation. G.I. Joe Spin-Off Movie Snake Eyes Finally Finds Its Director

G.I. Joe Spin-Off Movie Snake Eyes Finally Finds Its Director
The Snake Eyes movie is in talks with Robert Schwentke to direct. The G.I. Joe spin-off has been discussed a lot over the past few years, but it appears that there is finally some forward motion. Paramount and Hasbro have been looking for new ways to reinvent the franchise, much like they're doing with The Transformers and their upcoming Bumblebee movie. Ray Park portrayed the mysterious Snake Eyes in 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and again in 2013's sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but it appears that they will be rebooting and recasting the role.

Robert Schwentke, who recently received critical praise for his World War II thriller The Captain, is reportedly in the early stages of talks with Paramount to take on the Snake Eyes movie. The director is probably best-known for launching the Red action movie series with Bruce Willis and John Malkovich, and then later taking

Centering on the silent ninja Snake Eyes, the spinoff flick was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos; Brian Goldner is also on board as a producer. Now, it's looking like some progress is being made on this movie in earnest as Robert Schwentke (Red) is in talks to direct. Variety reports that Schwentke and Paramount are in early talks for the reboot of the film franchise based on …

G.I. Joe Snake Eyes Movie Eyes Red Director Robert Schwentke

Mike Cecchini Joseph Baxter Dec 5, 2018

A Snake Eyes solo movie is the most exciting G.I. Joe movie news we've heard in quite some time.

The G.I. Joe franchise hasn't had it easy on the big screen. The 2009 movie was, frankly, awful. But 2013's G.I. Joe: Retaliation was tremendous fun, enhanced by Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, a Bruce Willis performance where he almost looks like he wants to be there for a few minutes, and an absolutely brilliant multi-colored ninjas on a mountainside stunt fight that showcased Snake Eyes in all his glory. That alone is worth the price of admission.

But despite that, G.I. Joe 3 is taking its time getting off the ground. The project certainly exists, and, last we heard, it's slated for a March 27, 2020 release. In the meantime, Paramount isn't about to sleep on this franchise, though, as they've just put a G.I. Joe spinoff movie

Snake Eyes Is Getting a G.I. Joe Spin-Off Movie

As Paramount Pictures keeps prepping its long-awaited G.I. Joe 3, which currently has a March 27, 2020 release date in place, the studio is also moving ahead with a spin-off based on one of the franchise's most popular characters, Snake Eyes. Paramount has brought aboard writer Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast) to write the script, with Hasbro's Brian Goldner slated to produce, most likely through the toy company's film division, Allspark Pictures, which has a distribution pact with Paramount that was renewed in November.

No director is attached at this time, and the news is quite intriguing, given the nature of the Snake Eyes character, who, along with being highly skilled in combat and martial arts, is also known for never speaking. Martial arts expert and actor Ray Park portrayed Snake Eyes in both Paramount's 2009 movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and its 2013 follow-up, G.I. Joe: Reltaliation. There

Snake Eyes is Getting His Very Own G.I. Joe Movie!

Snake Eyes is easily one of the most of popular characters in the G.I. Joe franchise. He's just an all-around badass, and even though the first two live-action G.I. Joe films sucked, it was always a delight to watch him in action and kick ass.

Well, according to THR, Paramount Pictures is now developing a Snake Eyes solo film and they are looking to hire Evan Spiliotopoulos to write the script. Spiliotopoulos is best known for his work on Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman: Winter's War.

I actually love the idea of Snake Eyes getting his own film! I've always said that the G.I. Joe movies could work better if they put the focus on one to three characters. Just like Marvel did when they first launched their cinematic universe with Iron Man. I also felt that a G.I. Joe cinematic universe could be built in the same way.

Bright 2 Gets Beauty and the Beast Remake Writer

Netflix is moving forward with Bright 2, bringing aboard Evan Spiliotopoulos to write the script, taking over for original Bright writer Max Landis. Original Bright director David Ayer is returning to the helm, with Will Smith and Joel Edgerton expected to reprise their roles as Daryl Ward and Nick Jakoby, respectively. Netflix has yet to announce a production start date, or a release date for this sequel, but it will mark the first sequel for any of the streaming service's original movies.

Sources say that Max Landis, who wrote the original Bright, will not be involved with Bright 2. The writer reportedly had creative differences with returning director David Ayer, which lead to the writer parting ways on the sequel. Max Landis was paid a whopping sum for his original Bright script, reportedly between $3 million and $4 million, which was part of a package that Netflix paid $90 million for, beating out

This is the Actor Who Plays the Night King on Game of Thrones

  • BuzzSugar
The Night King on Game of Thrones is arguably the scariest villain the show has had, at least in the sense that he's Death personified . . . and the foe that seems to want to end all of mankind. He doesn't speak, he's insanely powerful, he's able to conjure up a new army in seconds if he needs to, and oh yes, he looks like a scary-ass horned blue assh*le. The Night King's makeup is terrifying (well, except for in this video), so we thought we needed to revisit the actor who plays him in real life. The Night King is played by Vladimír Furdík, a stuntman who has also appeared in The Huntsman: Winter's War and Thor: The Dark World as a stunt performer. You have also seen him on the show before in the season six scene where Bran learns how White Walkers are made. He's the shirtless dude

Highlander Reboot Will Start a Trilogy, Gets Compared to John Wick

Highlander Reboot Will Start a Trilogy, Gets Compared to John Wick
Back in November, Summit Entertainment brought on John Wick and John Wick 2 director Chad Stahelski to direct their long-gestating Highlander remake, which has been in various forms of development since Summit picked up the rights to the franchise back in 2008. Directors such as Justin Lin (Star Trek Beyond), Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (Intruders) and Cerdric Nicolas-Troyan (The Huntsman: Winter's War) had been attached to direct over the years, and at one point, Ryan Reynolds was even attached to star, before dropping the project in 2013, which is interesting since Chad Stahelski is also directing Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2, taking over for the departing Tim Miller. Now the gestating remake seems to be on the right track, with the director revealing that he's not only developing one movie, but he's starting to put a trilogy together.

Collider caught up with Chad Stahelski while he was promoting John Wick 2, in theaters

Liam Neeson Terrorizes Christmas in Santa Claus Audition Video
With just five days left until Christmas, everyone is getting in the holiday spirit, even big-screen bad-ass Liam Neeson. The actor recently stopped by CBS' late night series The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, to promote two new movies hitting theaters in limited release this week, Focus Features' A Monster Calls and Paramount's Silence, both of which could be awards season favorites. The actor even made it clear during his interview that there are no plans for Taken 4, but before the interview, the actor had a little fun with sketch that aired during the talk show.

In case you missed his appearance this week, The Late Show debuted the sketch on their YouTube for all to see, and it may just become a new holiday classic. The two-minute video shows Liam Neeson dressed in a full Santa Claus costume, as he auditions to become the new mall Santa. It's
