The series focuses on the five teenagers from Harlem — Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise. Timothée Chalamet and Josh Brolin Share ‘Dune’ Location Videos From the Jordan Desert
Filming is officially underway on Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated “Dune” adaptation, with stars Timothée Chalamet and Josh Brolin recently sharing some beautiful footage on social media from the movie’s set in the Jordan desert. The location is serving as the backdrop for the film’s primary setting of Arrakis, a desert planet which is home to a drug called melange (or “spice”) that is the most lucrative commodity in the universe.

Villeneuve has said “Dune” will try to avoid filming on sound-stages as much as possible, and these videos from Chalamet and Brolin prove that will be the case when it comes to depicting life on Arrakis.

Chalamet is starring in “Dune” as the lead character, Paul Atreides. The protagonist’s family becomes the owner of Arrakis, putting a target on their back as every major power player in the universe wants to control the spice market. The

Josh Brolin Shows Off the Dune Set in a Video Shared on Social Media

Josh Brolin shot a video showing off the set of director Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, and as you can see, it looks like the landscape of the story you’d image. It seems like a pretty awesome place to shoot the movie. I like how Brolin describes it aa an “ancient space.”

There’s an incredibly talented team of creative people working on Dune, and I have no doubt that this team is going to deliver an amazing film adaptation of Dune.

Check out the video below:

High Life Review

Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche star in Claire Denis’ cerebral yet fleshy sci-fi tale.

High Life is a science fiction film -- the first by brilliant French director Claire Denis -- but don’t go into it expecting Star Wars or even something like Arrival. For her first exploration of the genre (not to mention her first English-language film), Denis has stuck to her distinct, naturalistic style, dispensing with almost anything futuristic or high-tech in favor of a low-fi esthetic that place the focus firmly on her characters and even serves to heighten the otherworldly nature of her narrative and setting.

When we initially meet Robert Pattinson as Monte, he is tending to the maintenance of the spacecraft he’s traveling on, all alone except for a toddler he’s taking care of. The infant appears to be his daughter but it’s not completely certain at first who they really are,

Is there an ‘American Hustle’ curse at the Oscars?

Is there an ‘American Hustle’ curse at the Oscars?
Back in late 2013, David O. Russell’s “American Hustle” premiered to favorable reviews and enthusiastic audience reaction. It was immediately hailed as a serious Oscar contender, challenging frontrunners “12 Years a Slave” and “Gravity.”

American Hustle” got off to a strong start at the Golden Globe Awards, where it won three of its seven nominations: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy (Amy Adams) and Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Jennifer Lawrence.) It was the most honored film of the evening.

When the Oscar nominations were announced, “Hustle” bustled its way to an impressive ten nods, tying it with “Gravity.” “Hustle” notably received bids in all four acting categories, with Christian Bale (Best Actor) and Bradley Cooper (Best Supporting Actor) joining Adams and Lawrence. Russell had worked similar magic the previous year with “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Natalie Portman can’t quite come back down to Earth in first ‘Lucy in the Sky’ trailer [Watch]

Natalie Portman can’t quite come back down to Earth in first ‘Lucy in the Sky’ trailer [Watch]
No one plays unhinged quite like Natalie Portman, and she’s got another doozy on tap, judging by the first trailer for “Lucy in the Sky” (watch above).

The Oscar winner plays Lucy Cola, an astronaut who loses grip with reality upon her return to Earth and soon starts an affair with another astronaut, Mark (Jon Hamm). “I go up there and see the whole universe and everything here looks so small,” Lucy says in the clip over a shot of her and Mark bowling with a ball painted like Earth. Subtle, guys.

Portman adopts a Southern accent and dons a short wig that looks like the follicular love child of her ‘do in “The Professional” (1994) and Claire Foy‘s bob in “First Man.” As Lucy further unravels, the teaser ends with Lucy running from police and a shot of her in a room (therapy session?) in which she tells

Freddy Was Innocent In Early Script For A Nightmare On Elm Street Remake

Writer Eric Heisserer has done pretty well for himself in recent years, having penned the scripts for such popular genre works as Arrival and Bird Box. In fact, the scribe’s recent success might be all the more impressive given that his feature debut was a work as widely rejected as 2010‘s A Nightmare on Elm Street, and in a recent series of Twitter posts, Heisserer lamented how his script for the horror remake suffered heavy tampering.

Samuel Bayer’s critically panned slasher flick toys with the idea that Freddy Krueger, played this time by Jackie Earle Haley, may have been wrongly accused of molesting children, and is now coming back from the dead to seek vengeance. But while the film ultimately reveals the villain to be guilty, this wasn’t what Heisserer initially had in mind.

“There was an iteration of the movie at one point where he remained innocent and vengeful,

Elm Street Remake Writer Confirms Freddy Was Innocent in Early Script
One of the worst remakes in recent memory is Samuel Bayer's reboot of Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street starring Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as new Freddy Krueger. The 2010 remake boasted a screenplay written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer, who would later go on to pen such classics as Denis Villeneuve's Arrival starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.

But now that almost a full ten years have passed, what does Heisserer remember about his time on the infamous remake? Well, Eric Heisserer took to Twitter to talk about his own personal nightmare making the movie including a moment where he confirms a draft where Freddy Krueger was innocent of the crimes he was burned alive for. Heisserer says this.

"There was an iteration of the movie at one point where he remained innocent and vengeful, but then it flipped back."

Holy, hell, right?! That was

Production Begins on Denis Villeneuve’s Dune and Hans Zimmer Will Score The Film

Production has officially started on Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune, and it’s been announced that Dark Knight and Inception composer Hans Zimmer will create the film’s score. Hans and Denis previously worked on Blade Runner 2049, so it makes sense that they would want to work together again.

Zimmer is a master composer and I love the scores that he has created for the films that he’s worked on. It’ll be cool to see what he ends up delivering for this one.

We also have a new synopsis to share with you that came from a recent press release:
