Storyline

Dexter has decided to make a new life for himself with Hannah and Harrison but not before he takes care of the Brain Surgeon. In searching Zach Hamilton's photo studio he finds a clump of hair and blood hidden under a table. When Dexter runs the sample against the DNA database he finds a familial match - to Dr. Evelyn Vogel. Somewhat incredulous at his revelation, Vogel explains that she once had two sons, the eldest of which killed the other. He was placed in a mental institution but died in fire. Dexter believes he must have survived and soon has him identified. Deb meanwhile is having second thoughts about returning to Miami Metro. She's also agreed to let Hannah, who is now being sought by a Federal Marshall, hide out at her house. Written by garykmcd

Quotes

[first lines]
Dexter Morgan: [in bed] I just want to stay here with you.
Hannah McKay: I know, but you can't. Dexter, I'm so sorry about Zach. I know how much he meant to you.
Dexter Morgan: I need to see Dr. Vogel and figure out our next move. You should stay here, inside, out of view.
Hannah McKay: But I have to see Arlene this afternoon after her shift.
Dexter Morgan: Why?
Hannah McKay: It's not safe for me to draw money out of Maggie Castner's bank account anymore. The only money I have is what I've been sending away to Arlene to hold for me. And I'm gonna need that money to ...

I don't like where this is heading
29 August 2013 | by Theprestige82See all my reviews

This season has been like a roller coaster ride. The start was a bit shaky. Then we get our thrills. Spiraling downwards and then up again. But the ending is always disappointing. You feel that it should be more to it.

I'm a big fan of the show. But I hate the direction Dexter is heading. He has become so damn docile. It's not fun anymore, the Dexter we knew was intelligent. Now he's just dumb, and you just want to bury your head in your hands while watching this numskull doing the same mistakes over and over again. Oh god indeed Dexter.

I actually liked Zach. I thought he, after a bad start, turned out quite interesting. But in pure Dexter style, when harmony shows, it quickly turns deadly. But by doing that, the writers killed off the only new character with a bit of flare and persona.

We are now stuck with Vogel. Her son. And Elway. One of these will end this magnificent show. But either of them are worth it. Prepare for mediocre.
