  • A deer skull can be seen in Pete and Elliot's cave.

  • While Deputy Smalls is trying to get out of his police car, in order to obtain Pete, he briefly says 'Damn it'.

  • The parents die in a car crash in the first two minutes. He walks away from the upside-down car, past broken glass and smashed animal crackers, to go off alone in the woods.
  • The themes in the film generally have a low sense of threat or menace, and are justifiable by context.
  • The film contains some scenes that are mildly threatening and may unsettle younger viewers.
  • At the beginning, a boy is briefly menaced by a pack of wolves, but they are scared off by a dragon.
  • In one scene, a group of men uses tranquilizers and ropes to capture a dragon.
  • In another scene, a dragon breathes fire onto a bridge, causing it to crumble and putting a couple's life in danger.
  • However, the sense of threat is kept brief as the sequences are resolved with positive endings.
