While trick-or-treating, Adam, Watch and Sally encounter a house with a carnival of costumed characters that seems to be in another dimension.
It's Halloween, and Adam, Sally and Watch are out trick-or-treating in Spooksville. They see a young kid get abducted at the door of a house that looks abandoned. Adam decides to investigate. Inside the house is a carnival with lots of costumed adults that seem to be trapped there, in another dimension, by one Marvin the Magnificent, who happens to be the kid they saw get taken into the house. Marvin takes note of our threesome, whose voices seem to be strangely altered in this other dimension. Marvin ushers them into another room, where he tells them his story. He's trapped there and wants to get back to his parents. He also has his eye on Sally's magic wand (she's dressed up as a fairy princess, while Watch is a cowboy and Adam is a Ghost of Christmas Past or something-or-other with chains on). The trio are able to help Marvin get back home, and all is well in Spooksville once again. Maybe.
Adam, Sally and Watch discover an abandoned house into which Halloween trick-or-treaters have disappeared over the last seventy years. Within the house lies an archway into a pocket universe ruled over by boy magician Marvin the Magnificent, who physically ages not while all others do. As our trio fathom both their surroundings and Marvin himself (a would-be elegant host who likes to periodically eliminate a "guest" or two with magic), they find themselves changing against their wills into the characters of the costumes they wear - Adam into a wooing ghost, Sally a rhyming fairy princess, and Watch a space cowboy with a southern drawl. The keys to survival and escape: understanding their host and utilizing powers they never had before.
