After the mayor, recovering alcoholic Hellmann, falls from a Thanksgiving parade float apparently drunk, Burt runs for interim mayor, so 'first lady' Virginia could light the public Christmas decoration. Burt however finds, like all predecessors, including barney, that interim mayor 'opportunities' are traps to do the incumbent's dirty work, in this case canceling this year's Christmas festivities to save money needed for the public swimming pool. A new Christmas Classic
14 December 2013 | by iamvailSee all my reviews

Normally I don't care for re-runs. Nor do I normally care for anyone to re-do an already perfect classic like the Grinch. Like the way they butchered up the original movie Carrie. Who thinks anyone did it better than Sissy Spacek. The Grinch that stole Christmas is sacred to me. The writers did a wonderful job without spoiling the integrity of the original story. The Chances and the town folk of Natesville came out in full Natesville fashion. They did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, I was pleasantly entertained. I am glad to see this episode will be airing again on Christmas evening this year. I may never delete it from my DVR and have added it to my annual must see list.
