Did You Know?

At the end of the episode when all the Reagan men go camping, Frank (Tom Selleck) comes downstairs wearing a fedora identical to the one worn by Indiana Jones; Tom Selleck was once considered for the role of Indiana Jones but the network wouldn't let him out of his contract for Magnum P.I. When Henry is telling Jack about family history, he says that his father (Jack's great great grandfather) first arrived in NYC in 1910. He became a policeman, a menial job that no one else wanted since he already knew how to shoot a gun, having been a solider in the RAF in WWI. Not only did the RAF not exist in WWI (it was the Royal Flying Corps), the war didn't begin until 1914. Since the plot narrative supports that Great Great Grandpa was in WWI, the 1910 arrival date is wrong. See more »

The tragedy of PTSD
24 November 2016 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez get top honors for this Blue Bloods story. It's a missing persons case following a domestic dispute of an army enlistee and his wife. They are stationed on a military post and in New York City that could be Fort Hamilton or Fort Totten.

Wahlberg really feels this one given his Iraq service. The man is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder courtesy of the war. He's gone and taken their 7 year old kid with him.

In his usual manner Wahlberg steps on toes and on the military base the military really is in charge. His scene with the CID investigator in charge is typical Danny Reagan and it does bring a phone call from Tom Selleck to do what is not normal and practice a smidgen of diplomacy.

The final confrontation scene with the missing soldier Chad Michael Collins is intensely dramatic, I mean Emmy Award dramatic.

This episode should not be missed.
