Vijay to play activist ‘Traffic’ Ramasamy in father Sac’s next film?

Thalapathy Vijay made his acting debut as a child artiste in the 1984 film Vetri, directed by his father. He then regularly went to star in his father’s films such as Kudumbam, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Vasantha Raagam, Sattam Oru Vilayattu and Ithu Engal Neethi.

Vishal's 'Poojai' slated for Diwali release
Chennai, April 17: Vishal Krishna-starrer Tamil actioner "Poojai", which will go on floors Friday, is slated to release during Diwali. It will lock horns with Vijay-starrer "Kaththi", which is also releasing during the festive occasion.

"The regular shooting of 'Poojai' will start from tomorrow (Friday). It will release during Diwali," read a statement from the film's production house.

Shruti Haasan is paired with Vishal for the first time in the film, which will be directed Hari Gopalakrishnan.

Meanwhile, Vishal is currently enjoying the success of his latest Tamil release "Naan Sigappu Manithan".

'Shooting with hand-held camera physically exhausting'

Chennai, April 2: Cinematographer Richard M. Nathan, who recently completed work on Tamil action-thriller "Naan Sigappu Manithan", says shooting a film with a hand-held camera is physically taxing and takes a toll on the body.

He says even if he's paid a hefty sum by producers, he won't shoot a film using a hand-held camera at least for the next two years.

"Shooting with hand-held camera has been physically exhausting. When you're using a hand-held camera, you (cinematographer) have to literally carry its weight on your shoulder. A hand-held usually weighs about 18 kg and you have to carry it for at least 12 hours a day..

Lakshmi Menon busy with Class 12 exams
Chennai, March 14: Southern actress Lakshmi Menon couldn't attend the audio launch of her upcoming Tamil thriller "Naan Sigappu Manithan" Thursday because she was busy writing her Class 12 exams in Kerala, says actor Vishal Krishna.

This is the second time in a row Vishal and Lakshmi have worked together after Tamil drama "Pandiya Naadu".

"She wanted to be part of the audio launch but she couldn't make it because of her exams. She's writing her Class 12 exams in her hometown (Kerala). She will join us soon for the promotions of the film," Vishal told Ians.
