Mike Gillespie’s Brave Artists Management Adds Eric Kind & Eric Skinner As Partners, Trio As Managers

Eric Kind, formerly of Kind Management, was brought in as Executive Partner in late April, while Eric Skinner has joined as Partner, reuniting with Gillespie. Ava DuVernay Anthology Series ‘Cherish The Day’ Ordered By Own
Ava DuVernay (Queen Sugar) has set her next series at Own. The network has given a straight-to-series order to Cherish the Day, an original anthology series from DuVernay and Warner Horizon Scripted Television. The project is part of DuVernay’s overall deal with Warner Bros. TV. Oprah Winfrey will executive produce alongside DuVernay for a winter 2020 premiere on Own.

Created by DuVernay, in each season, Cherish the Day chronicles the stirring romance of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The season-long narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love, from the extraordinary to the everyday.

Tanya Hamilton will serve as executive producer/showrunner and will direct the series premiere. DuVernay’s longtime producing partner Paul Garnes will also executive produce the series.

Ava DuVernay Sets Romance Anthology Series
The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has given out a straight-to-series order for an anthology that hails from Ava DuVernay, Variety has learned exclusively.

The series is titled “Cherish the Day.” Each season, the anthology series chronicles the romance of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The season-long narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel people to hold true to the ones they love, from the extraordinary to the everyday. The show is currently slated to debut in winter 2020.

“Own is home,” DuVernay said. “I’m honored to create television for a network headed by an artist with spectacular vision and unbridled passion for the stories that we want to tell.”

This marks the second series that DuVernay has at Own. She also developed the series adaptation of the novel “Queen Sugar” for the network in addition to serving as director and executive producer on the series.

‘New York Undercover’ Pilot at ABC Casts Otmara Marrero, Toby Sandeman in Lead Roles
The new “New York Undercover” pilot in the works at ABC is rounding out its cast.

Otmara Marrero, Toby Sandeman, Anna Enger, Mc Lyte, and Octavio Pizano have all been cast in the drama pilot, which picks up 20 years after the end of the original series, “New York Undercover” will follow detectives Nat Gilmore (Sandeman) and Melissa Ortiz (Marrero) as they investigate the city’s most dangerous criminals from Harlem to Battery Park. This time around, Williams is overseeing the unit and the next generation of detectives.

They join previously announced cast members Malik Yoba and Luna Lauren Velez, who will reprise their roles from the original show.

Ortiz is described as a fiery young detective who blends well undercover, while Gilmore is said to be charismatic with an easy smile and a quick fuse. Enger will play Lisa Kim, an ambitious climber. Pizano will play Moses Hernandez, an eager beaver with a hero complex.

If Loving You Is Wrong: Season Four; Own Premiere Rescheduled (Video)

"The wait is over" (almost). If you're a fan of Own's If Loving You Is Wrong TV show, you're going to have to wait another month for its return. The drama's fourth season premiere has been rescheduled (again).

The series was expected to premiere on February 27th but recent press notes indicate that season four of If Loving You Is Wrong will now have a two-night launch in March. The first installment will air on Tuesday, March 19th, at 10 Pm and the second will air on Wednesday, March 20th, at 10 Pm. The series will air on Wednesdays moving forward.

Haddish was born in Los Angeles on Dec. 3, 1979. After she became the primary caregiver for her family after her mother suffered an accident, she opted to go to the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp when she was 17 years old. There, she received mentorship from people like Richard Pryor and Dane Cook.

Haddish got her break on the comedy competition “Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes?”, and had guest appearances on shows such as “Chelsea Lately,” “That’s So Raven,” “My Name Is Earl” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

In 2013, she scored a recurring role on “Real Husbands of Hollywood.” In 2014, she was cast in the Oprah Winfrey Network series “If Loving You Is Wrong.” However, she left that role after one season because she got a regular role on NBC’s “The Carmichael Show” for three seasons.

In 2017, Haddish starred in “Girls Trip” alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Regina Hall.

Hulu, Discovery Ink Deal for Live TV Channels, Exclusive On-Demand Shows

After well over a year of haggling, Hulu clinched a pact with Discovery to bring five of the cabler’s networks to Hulu’s live-streaming internet TV lineup along with thousands of on-demand episodes.

The companies had been in talks on an agreement since before Hulu launched its over-the-top streaming TV service in May 2017.

The multiyear deal will bring five additional Discovery networks to Hulu With Live TV, set to be available to subscribers starting in December 2018: Discovery Channel, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Motor Trend (the rebranded Velocity) and Animal Planet. Hulu has an existing distribution pact with Scripps Networks Interactive — now owned by Discovery — for Hgtv, Food Network and Travel Channel.

Under the pact, Hulu will boost its on-demand lineup with Discovery shows, expanding to nearly 4,000 episodes from the non-fiction programmer.
