Storyline

Lewis joins DI Hathaway and DS Lizzie Maddox in investigating the death of a 23 year-old Oxford classics student, Rose Anderson. She is found in the river after having gone out for a run the previous evening and Dr. Hobson determines that she died from stab wounds. They learn from her flatmate Chloe that Rose had an argument with her boyfriend, astrophysics professor Felix Garwood, and it appears she tried to run him down with her car earlier in the day. Rose was completing her PhD at St. Sebastian College where classics professor Simon Flaxmore is an expert on her chosen subject, Euripides, having found and translated an unknown play by Euripides some years before. Her thesis supervisor Philippa Garwood knew her quite well as Rose was also tutoring her 12 year-old niece. Phillipa also happens to be Felix Garwood's wife. Philippa's sister Jan and her optometrist husband Paul hired her as a tutor as their daughter suffers from a genetic blood disorder and was frequently out of school. ... Written by garykmcd

Goofs

Professor Garwood says that an astronomical unit cubed is equal to G, times the mass of the Sun, times a year squared, times 4 pi squared. It is in fact equal to G, times the mass of the Sun, times a year squared, divided by 4 pi squared. The value given in the show is too big by a factor of 16 pi^4 (~1558.55). See more »

Musical Beds and a Little Girl
26 March 2018 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

The first half of this is about a group of graduate students and a couple professors. They are damaged people who have little respect for those around them. One day a young woman is killed and Lewis and Hathaway are thrust into this world. A girl has a rare disease that seems to factor in their poor decision making. If the characters had shown compassion instead of selfishness, this evil would never have rested here.
