For the Latin American Dub, the original voice cast was hired again, and for this time was easier than in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (2013) because the dubbing studio was changed, this was done because 20th Century Fox and TOEI Animation wanted to avoid a delay on its release and also because some trouble that emerged on the dubbing of the previous film in which some original voice actors weren't called and this angered many fans.

The trivia items below may give away important plot points.

The fight with Frieza contains tributes to the original fight with Frieza in Dragon Ball Z (1989):
  • Goku is injured and Vegeta takes over the fight, a reverse of the original fight where Vegeta was injured and Goku took over
  • Goku unleashes a Saiyan transformation - and so does Vegeta
  • Frieza tries to kill Krillin, like in the first fight - while he succeeded there, Krillin is rescued in time
  • Frieza blows up a world when he is defeated - while in the original fight it was Namek and it could not be brought back, here it is Earth and it is brought back through time-travel.
