Elena Dawson on The Young & The Restless is a new face in Genoa City, but portrayer Brytni Sarpy is a familiar face to soap fans who watched her as Valerie on ABC sudser General Hospital. ‘The Favourite’ Oscar interviews: Exclusive chats with nominees Tony McNamara, Fiona Crombie, Yorgos Mavropsaridis [Watch]
With 10 Academy Award bids, “The Favourite” is tied with “Roma” as the most nominated film, making it … well, a favourite with voters. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, this Fox Searchlight release centers on the rivalry between two cousins (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz) for the affections of the frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman). Gold Derby spoke with screenwriter Tony McNamara, production designer Fiona Crombie and film editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis about their Oscar-nominated work.

See Gold Derby Film Awards winners 2019: ‘The Favourite’ is the biggest champ, but ‘Roma’ takes Best Picture

When McNamara was hired to work on Deborah Davis‘s draft of the script he wanted to “re-engineer the period movie.” He explains, “We just wanted it to be about people in a really contemporary way, not in the sense we were looking back at something.” Instead, he wanted “these three women and the dilemmas they got up with every day to be very fresh,

Criminal Minds Season 14 Episode 15 Review: Truth or Dare

  • TVfanatic
And now, to push off the happy ending you've been waiting for, we've got a case.

Krystall gave Rossi a break from the wedding preparations to chase a spree killer in Los Angeles on Criminal Minds Season 14 Episode 15.

So we all got to wait for 40 minutes for the main event.

Oh well, I suppose this is the season finale for a show called Criminal Minds, so the powers that be kind of had to show a criminal mind, no matter how weak an unsub they pursued.

Yup, a basic revenge killer.

At first, the initial shooter was crashing into cars then shooting their drivers. Not the safest way of completing the task, I'd think.

Related: Criminal Minds Season 14 Episode 14 Review: Sick and Evil

I thought the shooter was played by actor Jason Ritter (Kevin [Probably] Saves the World), a dark turn for a career-changing role.

Then, when he was gunned down

Five actresses with other films and TV shows that could boost their Oscar chances: Olivia Colman, Amy Adams …
It always helps a potential Academy Award nominee if they feature in a second (or even third) project alongside the one they are hoping to be nominated for. At worst, it helps get their faces out there a bit more and gets a few more Oscar voters to notice them. At best, it helps them garner more votes from the various colleagues they’ve worked with over the two or three projects. It also serves as a timely reminder of their talent, skills, and range.

For example, it helped recent Best Actress nominee (for “Carol” in 2015) Cate Blanchett that she also appeared in “Cinderella” and “Truth” the same year. Likewise, appearing in Alex Garland‘s “Ex Machina” (2014) helped Alicia Vikander earn a Best Supporting Actress win Tom Hooper‘s “The Danish Girl.”

But which potential female nominees this year have other projects out that could give them a little boost

Fiona Crombie (‘The Favourite’ production designer) on having the ‘freedom’ to create unconventional period film [Exclusive Video Interview]

Fiona Crombie (‘The Favourite’ production designer) on having the ‘freedom’ to create unconventional period film [Exclusive Video Interview]
“It was so evident from the script that the tone was going to be something quite different,” says “The Favourite” production designer Fiona Crombie. “It wasn’t your classic biopic or anything like that. It was immediately playful, immediately anachronistic,” which allowed for “a freedom” when it came to designing the lavish sets. Watch our exclusive video interview with Crombie above.

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, this Fox Searchlight release takes place in 18th century England, where a frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) occupies the throne while her loyal advisor, Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz), governs the country. But a new servant, Sarah (Emma Stone), arrives and immediately charms the Queen, much to Sarah’s consternation.

In her research, Crombie found “a series of architectural drawings that were actually of Hampton Court and some of the locations” portrayed in the film. “They were basically these fantastic,

Event Report: Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights 2018 Delivers Endless Thrills and Chills

  • DailyDead
Each and every September, haunt season in Southern California officially kicks off with the opening night of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Spearheaded by Creative Director John Murdy, this year’s Hhn has an admirable mix of both new and classic properties, including Stranger Things, Halloween 4, Trick ’r Treat, Poltergeist, The First Purge, Universal Monsters, and The Horrors of Blumhouse, which features both Unfriended and Truth or Dare. As a whole, Hhn 2018 might be one of the best overall experiences I’ve had at the annual event.

One of the first attractions we made our way through for the evening was the Halloween 4 maze, as it seemed like the logical place to start, and it was an incredible experience. As a fan, there are so many great moments in the Halloween 4 maze that were plucked right out of Dwight H. Little’s film that I could have
