According to Rita's character profile on the official Westside (2015) website, she met Ted when she was 16. In Series 2 Episode 5, set in 1981, they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. This places her year of birth 36 years prior to 1981, in 1945. However, by Vern Gardiner's account to Loretta in Outrageous Fortune (2005), he was 14 and Rita was 18 when they first met, meaning she was 4 years older. Vern said he was 23 when he last saw her, which we see takes place in 1974 in Westside. This means Rita was 27 in 1974, placing her year of birth in or close to 1947. See more »
... keeps up.. will be remembered as one of the best
..through two seasons this is as good as it gets. Anyone remembering Outrageous Fortune can relate. In the States we can't come close to doing this stuff... so wish we could. There's no weak parts.. everything works, and the main lead (empowered female) centers the entire deal.. she is just amazingly good. You want to be drawn into the story-line, and these are the the kinds of productions that do it better than any of the numerous others. They've committed to a third season to air sometime in 2017 and cannot wait. There's only a handful of top notch shows out there right now.. and without a doubt this is one of the more outstanding of the entire group.
