Marvel's Inhumans Movie Would Have Hit Theaters Today, So What Happened?
Today could have been a very cool day for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not that it's a bad day or anything like that, but it's not as cool as it could have been, as today would have been the day that the Inhumans movie would have arrived in theaters, had things gone according to plan. Yet, we're not getting any such movie today, or any day in the near future. And certain fans are taking to Twitter to mourn the loss of what could have been. So what happened exactly to derail this potentially awesome project?

Back in October 2014, Marvel Studios made a huge, splashy announcement debuting their upcoming slate for what we've come to know as Phase 3 of the McU. That included Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2 (which eventually

Marvel Fans Mourn The Inhumans Movie, Which Was Supposed To Release Today

Somewhere out there in the vast unknown, we’d like to think there’s an alternate timeline in which Marvel fans are currently flocking to theaters in preparation for the Inhumans movie, which was initially pegged to release on this day.

That’s right, July 12th, 2019 could have been very, very different if the Powers That Be stuck to the original schedule – a schedule which, as you’ll see below, also referred to Avengers: Endgame as Infinity War – Part II.

History tells us that Kevin Feige and Co. reshuffled Phase 3, resulting in some release date changes and official titles for the likes of Spider-Man and the aforementioned Infinity War – Part II. But perhaps the most notable change of the lot was reserved for the Inhumans, which ultimately released as an ABC series and, well, we all know how that one turned out…

But somewhere in the Multiverse, there exists a big-screen version of the Inhumans,

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood tracking $30 million opening

Three weeks out from its release and the official tracking figures are now in for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with Variety reporting that Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film is tracking a domestic opening weekend of between $28 million to $30 million.

Some predictions have gone as high as $50 million, although most analysts expect the film to fall short of the likes of Inglourious Basterds ($38 million) and Django Unchained ($30.1 million) but enjoy a lengthy run into August against blockbuster competition like The Lion King and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

Sony has reportedly pumped $90 million into Once Upon a Time in Hollywood before advertising, so the studio will certainly be hoping that is the case. If the rave reviews coming out of Cannes are any indication, executives will surely be feeling confident.

Quentin Tarantino may extend Once Upon a Time in Hollywood following Cannes premiere

Quentin Tarantino has been in Cannes this past week to premiere his new movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the film receiving a standing ovation at its screening and drawing reactions which praised the film as “terrific” and “shocking”.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood still doesn’t open for another couple of months, and it seems that the version we get in theaters may end up being different from the one shown at Cannes, with Tarantino revealing to IndieWire (via Dark Horizons) that he’s considering a return to the edit bay to extend the movie.

“I may make it longer,” said Tarantino. “I wouldn’t take anything else out. I’m going to explore possibly putting something back in. If anything, I wanted to go to Cannes too short. if I’m going to err, I’m going to err on too tight.”

Anthony Hopkins, Anson Mount, Abbie Cornish To Star In Noir Thriller ‘The Virtuoso’

Anthony Hopkins, Anson Mount, Abbie Cornish To Star In Noir Thriller ‘The Virtuoso’
Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins, Anson Mount, and Abbie Cornish are set to star in The Virtuoso, a noir thriller directed by Nick Stagliano. Stagliano’s Nazz Productions financed and produced the film, which will be presented to buyers at Cannes.

Written by James C. Wolf, with revisions by Stagliano, the story follows a professional assassin (Mount) who must track down and kill his latest target to satisfy an outstanding debt to his mentor (Hopkins). Unlike his other “jobs,” this assignment offers precious little information. He’s given no name or photo, only that his target will be in a rustic diner in a dying town at 5:00 Pm. Bound by obligation, the Virtuoso embarks on a manhunt to find his prey and accomplish the mission. Any one of the patrons in the diner could be the mark,

On the Set With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Cast Talks of Life After Coulson, the Search for Fitz, and... Swords?

Upon being escorted onto the Culver City soundstage that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. calls home, I… am pretty sure I’m in the wrong place? Because the first set I walk past is just so odd and incongruous with anything we’ve seen thus far on the ABC series. And yet I am assured it does eventually play a key role in Season 6, which kicks off this Friday at 8/7c.

Of course, “odd and incongruous” are practically hallmarks of S.H.I.E.L.D., which has introduced new elements on the regular. Season

"Falcon and Winter Soldier" TV Series

Marvel Comics' high-flying 'Falcon' and brain-washed killer 'Bucky Barnes' aka  'The Winter Soldier' are teaming up for a new limited, live-action TV series, produced by Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, exclusively for the Disney+ streaming service:

Malcolm Spellman ("Empire") will script the new "Falcon"/"Winter Soldier" series, to be produced by Feige, rather than Marvel TV which has had numerous cancellations including "Inhumans", "Agent Carter", "Iron Fist", "Luke Cage" and the struggling "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".

After overseeing one blockbuster feature after another, Feige has proven he understands the connection between the emotional expectations of Marvel Comics' fans and the accurate realization of their superheroes up on screen.

As well as the developing "Loki and Scarlet Witch" series starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, Disney streaming projects are expected to range from six to eight episodes, with larger budgets than regular series.

'Sam Wilson' aka 'Falcon' created by writer-editor Stan Lee and illustrator Gene Colan,

Is Marvel Planning A Blade TV Series For Hulu?

Could it be that everyone’s favorite daywalker is headed to Hulu?

Marvel’s Ghost Rider and Helstrom were recently announced as new live-action series for the streaming platform, where they’ll presumably join Runaways, the teen-centric superhero show that’s now entering its third season. Having portrayed Robbie Reyes throughout Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Gabriel Luna will once again embody the Spirit of Vengeance (h/t Deadline), though such an exciting development has many wondering whether Blade is destined to receive a similar treatment.

For one, yesterday’s announcement alluded to the Spirits of Vengeance – as in ‘spirits’ plural – leading many to believe that Marvel is actually referring to a comic book arc in which Ghost Rider and Eric Brooks/Blade crossed paths. There is, however, every chance that the Powers That Be are referencing Ghost Rider’s other incarnations: Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch.

What Can We Expect From Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? | Flickering Myth Podcast Mini

Last week we got our first glimpse of Quentin Tarantino’s hotly-anticipated ninth film with the release of a teaser trailer for the 1960s-set Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

So far, all we really know about the movie is that it will follow Leonardo DiCaprio’s former TV star Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), while notorious cult leader Charles Manson (Damon Herriman) will factor into the plot, as will Manson Family victim Sharon Tate, portrayed by Margot Robbie.

How everything fits together remains a mystery at this point, with the trailer offering very little in the way of clues. In this excerpt from the latest Flickering Myth Podcast, hosts Allen and Gerald discuss the trailer, and what we might expect from the movie…
