Don't Breathe (2016)
Deadline reports that Begos will direct V.F.W. from a screenplay by Max Brallier and Matthew McArdle, with Lang in the starring role.
Described as "The Wild Bunch meets Night of the Living Dead," according to Deadline, V.F.W. "follows Fred and his military buddies as they must defend their local Vfw post – and an innocent teen – against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants. These Vietnam vets have been to hell and back, but this will be the longest night of their lives."
And, get this, the movie just snagged Avatar and Don't Breathe baddie Stephen Lang as the star. Described as The Wild Bunch meets Night of the Living Dead, it follows, "Fred and his military buddies as they must defend their local Vfw post - and an innocent teen - against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants.

From Texas Frightmare Weekend: "We're excited to welcome prolific director/producer/writer/actor Sam Raimi to
On Twitter, Fede Alvarez was asked by a curious fan if the film is a remake or a sequel, looking to finally end the long-running debate.
We sit down with veteran character actor Stephen Lang to discuss Mortal Engines, embodying cyborgs... and Don't Breathe 2.
Though he’s been a staple of stage and screen for some time now, Stephen Lang’s name generally brings an image of certain roles to people’s minds. That of the grizzled, no-nonsense Col. Miles Quaritch from James Cameron’s Avatar (who it seems will be the main antagonist for all of the upcoming sequels as well); or as “The Blind Man,” from the recent horror hit, Don’t Breathe. But the real Lang cut his teeth in the business as a staple of the stage, appearing as Happy in the 1980s revival of Death of a Salesman, and he was the first person to portray Col. Nathan Jessup in the original stage productions of A Few Good Men, a role that was made infamous from its film adaptation with Jack Nicholson.
In 2011, David Fincher took a crack at The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, utilizing a cast fronted by Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. The movie was a modest hit at the box office and garnered a Best Actress Oscar nomination for Mara. However, the reported $90 million budget made pursuing a sequel somewhat problematic. Not to mention that Craig has kept busy with his outings as Bond and Mara has also been in-demand in the years since.
Ultimately, it looks like the holiday buzz is going to get started a bit early this year with The Grinch, which features Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the beloved Dr. Seuss creation, taking the top spot. The new take on the classic tale looks to bring in between $55 and $65 million, based on current estimates. Even on the low end, that should be more than enough to take the top spot, as
The Girl in the Spider's Web, which is based on author David Lagercrantz' fourth novel in the series, centers on a man who was recently fired from a high-ranking position within the National Security Agency. He then recruits world-class hacker and all around troubled badass Lisbeth Salander to steal his program, FireWall.
Not long ago, Alvarez asked his Twitter followers which sequel they would like to see made first: “Don’t Breathe 2” or “Evil Dead 2”? While some took that to mean Alvarez was in the early planning stages on both, the filmmaker was merely just gauging the fan reactions to each title. “Evil Dead 2” won by a wide margin, hardly a surprise given the franchise’s fan base dates back to Sam Raimi’s 1981 original.
Not long ago, Fede Alvarez tweeted to his fans, asking if he should do Don't Breathe 2 or Evil Dead 2 next, with the latter option being the runaway favorite. I recently had the chance to speak with the filmmaker in honor of his latest movie, The Girl in the Spider's Web. During the conversation, I asked Fede Alvarez about possibly doing a sequel to his Evil Dead remake as his next movie, given the Twitter poll, and
"It is basically a direct continuation of the first movie many years later, and I can't tell you much more about it... but we have a script, and we're very excited about it so we'll see where that goes. Like always, it takes time and effort to
"Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in The Girl in the Spider's Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller. Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of "The Crown," will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016's breakout thriller Don't Breathe; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu."
Along with Claire Foy, the film also stars Sverrir Gudnason, Lakeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks,
A new Dragon Tattoo story comes to the screen starring Claire Foy (The Crown) as Lisbeth Salander, the fierce, outcast vigilante defender from the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, in The Girl in the Spider's Web. A first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller, the film is directed by Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016's breakout thriller Don't Breathe; the screenplay adaptation is by Jay Basu & Fede Alvarez and Steven Knight.
After a successful trilogy was launched in Stieg Larsson's home country of Sweden,
Nathan Fillion stars as Nathan Drake in a live-action Uncharted fan film and it's pretty freakin' fantastic! It also shows how perfect Fillion fits this character! After watching this, it's a shame that he'll still probably never star in a feature film. Oh yeah! I should probably also mention that the short also stars Stephen Lang in the role of Sully, which is another perfect piece of casting!
The short film was directed by Allan Ungar and he made a fan film that I think Uncharted fans will be proud of. It's a great set up to a story and the writing is clever, fun, and spot on! It's also got some great action and some cool shots!
The Girl in the Spider's Web's version of Lisbeth Salander focuses on the vengeance, and the trailer is action packed. As evidenced from the books and past movies, she is an incredible computer hacker and
