Storyline

Just as Rohan is winning Philippe back as lover, Louis stubbornly charges him and Louvois, not the prince, with talking to the war veterans on palace construction strike, who even ask Orleans to speak for them. Louis releases Philippe's pregnant woman as his mistress, but orders both remain at court. Ruined after his castle's fire, even the duke of Kassel agrees to move into Versailles when promised debt remission, but counts on Montcourt to steal for him, now by dirty deals with tax collectors. Convinced force won't work, Louis soothes the strikers by promising the Dôme des Invalides, a free crippled veterans home in Paris. Louis himself falls ill, rekindling his nightmares of being ousted. Versailles 6
15 August 2016 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Bolshoi work shy builders, although Karl Marx is yet to be born, early socialism is taking a grip in Versailles. These ex soldiers are grumpy. Grumpy about the lack of pay and health and safety breaches. They are on strike.

Louis is so perplexed he dismisses the sensible advice to let his brother Philippe to conciliate as he is now a respected was veteran himself and sends Rohan who is useless and lacks credibility with the ex soldiers. The whole incident again leaves Philippe angry with his brother and he contemplates whether he should leave Versailles and set out on his own with his wife.

Cassel whose château was suspiciously burned down and was plotting against Louis has been invited to stay in the palace and was given a small broom cupboard. Cassel is certainly not as haughty as he used to be.

A fair amount of intrigue and the bonking has returned after being absent for a few weeks.
