Sherlock is called in to help with the murder of a cop. When they get there Sherlock notices that the cop's gun is a toy. Watson goes to see the man's wife who says that her husband became addicted to pain killers and would steal anything to pay for them. She threw him out and before he was killed she says he claims to be clean. They deduce that he probably offered his gun as payment for the pills and that he had access to the armory where the department's gun are kept and was taking guns from there to pay for his pills. They assume that if he kicked his habit, he stopped stealing guns and told the one he gave them to that he was done. So they think that's why he was killed. But later another cop was killed with the same gun. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

Sherlock Holmes: It's strange, you know. To be found unique in the setting of a meeting. To stand out. It's the one area of my life I feel part of the crowd.

props to the writers

TV is a different world than it was.

Now it is not only common for the producers of a successful series to shake things up a bit, it is expected.

I confess I had some problem with the whole "replace-Watson-with-another-protogee" thing but if the writers had to go through that to achieve this pitch-perfect episode, OK, it was worth the wait.

This script could be taught in film school. Perfect. Smooth. Hooks the viewer and drags you along. No lags or lulls.

"Cop killer" has been done to death but this is new and refreshing and oddly exhilarating.

Props all around.
