Sex & Nudity

  • None. There are no sex or nudity shown in this movie.

Violence & Gore

  • The gore shown in the movie is mild and is justified by context - There are a few scenes with dead bodies at a hospital, one in particular shows a corpse with the chest cavity missing, this is shown a couple times but the blood shown is quite minimal. A few PG-13 level fight and shootout scenes, but overall the violence is fairly limited. Nothing beyond what you would see on a CBS cop show.
  • Blood from an accident is shown. Grazes, bruises, scars and open wounds shown.
  • A man is pepper sprayed in the eyes.
  • A man gets a syringe in him to sedate him whilst being aggressive to hospital staff.
  • A man is shot in the knee cap.
  • A man chokes another man until he cannot breathe and becomes unconscious.
  • Carcuses are shown in a lab/morgue where the organs have been removed from the bodies. Quite graphic and gory scenes. One scene shows a dead body with eyes gauged out.
  • A man grabs a gun from a police officer and takes someone hostage at gun point.
  • An explosion occurs with four people being caught in it. You see the fire engulf the persons.
  • Two men have a fist fight where punches to the face, stomach and throat are shown.
  • A woman is punched and falls head first onto a rusty nail and blood pours out.

Profanity

  • Approx 20 uses of F**k though none are sexual in nature, at least one use of S**t. There is very little language throughout most of the film and the profanity is bunched in a few scenes.
  • There are quite a few "F" words and other swear words
  • I heard 7x F-words throughout (with 1x-2x heard in background, not in the dialogue). Not anywhere near 20x as the previous comment suggested. A couple of S-Words scattered here and there infrequently. Mild.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Medicinal drug references. A man is seen buying two whisky minature bottles at a shop counter and later confesses to being a recovering alcoholic. A man gets a syringe in him by hospital staff to sedate him as he is being aggressive. The man later injects himself three times with adrenaline to come off the sedation he has been given. A man gets pepper sprayed in the eyes. A woman complains to a man that she has been injected with a sedative.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The movie has a very uneasy and dark atmosphere throughout.
  • A little girl is charged by a vicious looking dog. Her father tries to hit with a rock, but she moves backwards in fear and falls on some construction site, with her father falling with her to rescue her.
  • The hospital staff insist that they have never seen the main character's wife and child, where they say he probably "imagined" them. Viewers are made to think that the main character is set up in a plot or cabal perpetrated by the hospital staff and the cops as well. This concept is pretty much the storyline of this movie, and viewers might it very intense.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • The main character pushes his wife in anger at a construction site, where she falls head first on poking rivets. We don't see the impact, as it's briefly cut off. But we see the aftermath from a wide shot, with blood. We also learn that, in the twist, that his daughter falls hard on her head and we see the impact of her falling, but it isn't graphic. Again, we just see the aftermath with blood surrounding her body.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The ending contains a twist that will surely leave you upset and scared for a while
