WWE Hall of Famer 'Superfly'Jimmy Snuka Passes Away

On September 18th, 1989, I attend my first WWE Live Event. It was a House Show at the old Stadium Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Main Event of the show saw The Ultimate Warrior face off against Andre the Giant for the Intercontinental Championship. Other legends that were a part of the show were Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty, Rick The Model Martel, Barry Windham, The Honky Tonk Man, and Superfly Jimmy Snuka.

I bring this up because word came out today that Jimmy Snuka has passed away at the age of 73 due to stomach cancer. His work in the ring speaks for itself. He was a legend that helped inspire the likes of Mick Foley to lace up the boots and become competitors themselves. He was also the first notch on The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania when The Undertaker defeated him at Wrestlemania 7. He also had a

Former WWE Manager Will Induct Big Boss Man To Hall Of Fame

WWE.com

WWE have revealed that former wrestling manager Slick will be the man to induct The Big Boss Man into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

A memorable character from the 80s, Slick managed the Boss Man for his first couple of years in WWF. Nicknamed “The Doctor Of Style”, the storyline went that Slick brought the former corrections officer from Cobb County, Georgia to deliver hard times to the World Wrestling Federation.

After a successful run as a singles competitor, Slick would then pair Boss Man with Akeem to form the gigantic tag team, The Twin Towers. Their partnership would come to an end in 1990, when Slick attempted to sell the Boss Man’s services to The Million Dollar Man.

Also set to be inducted to the WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2016 this weekend are;

Vader To Induct Stan Hansen Into WWE Hall Of Fame

WWE.com

WWE have revealed that former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Vader will be the man to induct Stan Hansen into the WWE Hall Of Fame in Dallas next month.

The connection between the two grapplers is clear. Way back in February 1990, Vader fought Hansen at an Ajpw versus Njpw supercard show where Hansen inadvertently poked Vader’s eye out of its socket with his right thumb, after getting carried away during an exchange of stiff exchanges.

Incredibly, Vader would continue the contest after removing his own mask to push the eyeball back into its socket and holding it in place with his eyelid. The match would continue and eventually end in a no-contest, with Vader eating needing a metal place to be surgically placed under his eye.

Those old enough to remember it can remind themselves of the brutal match below…

For his achievements in wrestling all over the world,

10 Ways WWE Could Improve Hall Of Fame

WWE.com

For many fans, current superstars and former wrestlers, WrestleMania Eve is often their favorite night of the year because of the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony and what it has become.

It’s grown from the mid-90s and the days of banquets strictly celebrating long-retired wrestlers that still worked for WWE in various backstage roles to what it is today. These days, it’s an integral part of WrestleMania weekend that fills 20,000 seat arenas honouring way more than just the McMahon inner circle.

In addition to honouring WWE legends, the Hall Of Fame now recognizes individuals and groups that go beyond WWE like the Four Horsemen and Fabulous Freebirds as well as celebrities and non-wrestlers with their introduction of the Warrior Award.

Last year’s ceremony was a perfect example of how great certain aspects of the Hall Of Fame can be. From Rikishi dancing to Dana

15 Future WWE Hall Of Fame Headliners

WWE.com

The WWE Hall Of Fame began as a tribute to Andre The Giant just weeks after his passing in 1993 and has grown to become a fairly-respected institution recognizing all of professional wrestling’s greatest contributors. A few of those inductees are no doubt, surefire, “first ballot” (if the WWE had a voting process and ballots to go along with it) Hall Of Famers.

Even fewer of those contributors are marquee names that are capable of headlining the ceremony, drawing thousands of ticket sales. After all, the Hall Of Fame is more of a show now than it ever has been before and, like every other event that WWE puts on throughout the year, the final act must be worth the wait.

Superstars like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and The Ultimate Warrior are examples of those prestigious contributors that have become headlining Hall Of Famers, but as the years go by,

10 Wrestling Facts We Didn’t Know Last Week (Feb 6)

WWE.com

There’s no doubts about it, Roman Reigns is the man hand-picked to be World Wrestling Entertainment’s big babyface sensation from here on out. In the picture above, it’s perhaps no accident that Reigns is in the foreground whilst John Cena takes up much of the background. Despite his continued popularity with WWE’s core demographic, Cena is no longer the sole apple of WWE’s eye.

Incredibly, things nearly didn’t work for Roman Reigns. In this week’s article, the reason why is revealed by none other than WWE Hall Of Fame announcer Jim Ross. That’s what this list is all about, exploring the pro wrestling world to deliver 10 different facts that weren’t exactly common knowledge last week.

Joining Reigns, there are facts related to the likes of Mick Foley’s Mankind character, Aj Styles, The Rockers and even Paul London. In addition to that,

Sunny Uses The N-Word And Hits Out At Critics

wwe.com

Sunny has used the N-word on Twitter, provoking a furious reaction from the internet wrestling community.

The former WWE Diva claims she was using the word as a pet name for her latino friend. Her exact tweet was “What up my n**ga!!!???”

Fans then pointed out the word is inappropriate, and Sunny responded in a shockingly heated fashion. She went on to start a “#WhiteLivesMatter” hashtag, as well as claiming that she’s used the word for eleven years when talking to her friend.

She also tweeted “Omg this isn’t the early 1900’s and there isn’t a slavery problem anymore. Get over it.”

Another controversial tweet said “So, everyone can say #BlackLivesMatter. What if I say #WhiteLivesMatter? Ya’ll gonna go ape s**t on me for that too!! #DoubleStandard. Well I had a friend who was a white cop, who was sitting in his patrol car,

Sting Confirmed For WWE Hall Of Fame 2016

WWE.com

WWE.com have confirmed that Sting will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year.

The WCW icon could be the main attraction inductee from the Class Of 2016 ceremony, which will once again take part the night before WrestleMania.

The fifty six year old certainly deserves it, after a three decade career in which he was at one point the biggest star in the industry. Indeed, his WCW days saw him quickly become the franchise star of that company, firstly as the bleach blonde Sting of the early nineties, and again as the crow Sting of the later nineties.

Not only was he a fantastic character, he was also a talented in-ring worker. His bouts with Ric Flair are the stuff of legend, and he ended up winning several World Championship belts.

Eventually signing with WWE in 2014, Sting had a good match with Triple H at

7 Most Notorious Randy Savage Urban Legends

WWE.com

For years, pro wrestling fans around the world wanted to see ‘Macho ManRandy Savage inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. The legendary grappler was someone many argued was a huge omission from the annual ceremony. One of the best-remembered stars from his generation, Savage was also a sterling in-ring performer.

In 2015, people finally got their wish, with Hulk Hogan posthumously inducting Savage into the WWE Hall Of Fame. An interesting choice, because there had long been rumours of a love/hate relationship between both men. In fact, proposed issues between the pair have been a talking point in the wrestling industry since the 1980’s, and there have been many (often wildly different) stories about their arguments and friendship.

Issues with Hulk Hogan aren’t the only question marks hanging over the life and career of Randy Savage. The man had a storied, lengthy tenure in the wrestling business,

Kurt Angle Wants To Wrestle Daniel Bryan

WWE.com / TNAWrestling.com

It has been almost 10 years since Kurt Angle left WWE for Tna Wrestling. Since then, several wrestlers have risen to the main event scene in WWE who never had the chance to wrestle Kurt. One of the obvious choices for a dream match with Angle has always been Daniel Bryan, and during a recent interview with Digital Spy, Angle let it be known that fans aren’t the only ones that have thought about that particular match.

Concerning a possible bout with Bryan in the future, Angle said:

Daniel Bryan is my pick. He always will be, I really believe he’ll be back. Right now, pound for pound, he’s the best wrestler on the planet. He reminds me a lot of Aj Styles – there’s a kid who doesn’t get credit either – he’s one of the top three right now in wrestling,

10 Ex-wwe Superstars With Unfinished Business

WWE.com

If there’s one thing Vince McMahon has proved over the years, it’s that, short of a Chris Benoit-sized horror story or, as it seems, a spot of awful racism, no one is truly ever Gone For Good when it comes to WWE.

History has shown that pretty much anyone that’s rubbed the Boss up the wrong way can make amends and be back on Raw one day, whether it’s Steve Austin bringing his ball back in 2003, the Ultimate Warrior building bridges to finally make it into the WWE Hall Of Fame last year shortly before his untimely passing, or Bret Hart putting the most infamous wrestling bust-up in history to rest when he returned to WWE’s flagship programme after over 12 years away in 2010.

Be it through simply falling down the pecking order and out of favour or sticking a middle finger up

Kurt Angle Leaving Tna And Could Be Retired

wwe / impactwrestling

Kurt Angle is leaving Tna at the end of 2015. He told Mark Madden’s Pittsburgh radio show on Tuesday night that he wouldn’t be signing a new contract with Tna Impact Wrestling.

His contract is set to expire at the end of this year, and he said he’d be taking a break from pro wrestling.

However, considering he turns 47 at the end of this year, considering his chronic injuries, and considering WWE have no interest in signing him, Angle’s exit from Tna could well be his retirement as a pro wrestler.

If this is the end of his career, he should be congratulated on being one of the best pro wrestlers of this century. Especially in the years he had with WWE, he was just supremely talented. His peak came from 2002 to 2005, when he had numerous excellent matches with the likes of Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels,

Bret Hart Wants Owen Hart In WWE Hall Of Fame Next Year

WWE.com

Bret Hart took part in a Periscope chat with Tsn’s Off The Record where he answered fan questions for 16 minutes. As always, he was very opinionated about a number of subjects, including his late brother Owen Hart being inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame.

“I’m hoping next year at WrestleMania that he’ll be inducted and I’ll be really sorely disappointed if he’s not. It’s really overdue.”

He said he was looking forward to the Owen Hart DVD that will be released in December, but that it was too controlled and that WWE had to tip-toe around things so they didn’t offend Owen’s widow Martha Hart. Bret thinks that Martha has made an ass of herself and it has pissed him off because she has tried to erase his legacy.

He spoke about how people should remember Owen fondly, that

10 Most Notorious Booker T Urban Legends

WWE.com

Entered into the WWE Hall Of Fame the night before WrestleMania 29 in 2013, Booker T has been involved in the pro wrestling industry since 1989. The man was one of the bigger stars to cross over to the then-wwf once Vince McMahon bought over World Championship Wrestling in 2001, and went on to become a multi-time World Champion in the promotion.

Fans in WCW had been crying out for years to see Booker elevated to the main event scene, and they finally got their wish in the year 2000. At Bash At The Beach, the fan favourite captured the WCW World Title during a match with Jeff Jarrett. It was the culmination of over a decade of effort from the wrestler, who had previously been viewed as more of a tag-team specialist.

Controversy has followed Booker T around during his life, especially as a young adult. Spending almost 2 years in prison during his youth,

Schwarzenegger re-enacts Terminator scene for WWE

Arnold Schwarzenegger continues to prove that he’s an absolute legend in this brand new promotional video for the upcoming video game WWE 2K16, which will be released later this year. The video shows the actor re-enact one of the most iconic scenes from his 1991 action film Terminator 2: Judgement Day. You know the one – “I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle.”

The WWE 2K16 game allows users to play the game as The Terminator, hence the reason for this cool video, which replays that bar scene with WWE wrestlers Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan, amogst many others.

Schwarzenegger is clearly a fan of the WWE, as he says in this quote from the official press release.

I’ve achieved many things in my life, but I’ve always said success means staying hungry and pushing the limits, I was honored to join the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year,

WWE Erase Hulk Hogan From History Amid Racist Tirade Rumour

wwe.com

Hulk Hogan is gone from the WWE, allegedly due to a racist audio clip which is about to be released by the National Enquirer. Wade Keller of PWTorch retweeted a link to a post at thecoli.com which alleges “When the National Enquirer releases audio of the Hulkster dropping the N-word so liberally that insiders are saying “there’s no coming back from this.””

For now, all that is certain, is that WWE have removed Hulk Hogan from almost everything. He’s gone from wwe.com, he’s gone from wwe shop, he’s gone from Tough Enough, he’s even gone from the WWE Hall Of Fame page. That seems to indicate that there has been a very serious incident.

Even Curtis Axel’s Axelmania gimmick has been reverted back to plain Curtis Axel.

This story broke late on Thursday night, so details are still developing. WWE

10 Wrestling Facts We Didn’t Know Last Week

WWE.com

This weekend, WWE present yet another Pay-Per-View style offering in the form of Battleground. As mentioned before in this article, these broadcasts are coming thick and fast, which isn’t exactly a good thing for those who choose to watch via the WWE Network – in truth, the more events there are, the better value for money people are getting for their ‘9.99’.

At Battleground, Brock Lesnar will challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and legendary announcer (and WWE Hall Of Fame inductee) Jim Ross gave his thoughts this past week that Brock should lose the match, eventually only winning the title back at WrestleMania 32. Quite clearly, that would take some superb story telling and patience from the WWE creative team, who may wish to pull the trigger much earlier than that, possibly even at Battleground.

Also on the card, John Cena defends the Us Title against Kevin Owens,

Photo Of Chyna At WWE Headquarters

An image of former WWE diva Chyna (aka Joan Laurer) visiting WWE headquarters has emerged online.

Erik Angra, a producer who is looking to fund a documentary on Chyna’s life and career, shared the below tweet of Laurer at WWE’s HQ in Stamford, Connecticut.

The tweet was posted just a few hours ago, potentially meaning the visit was today;

Chyna has now returned to the United States after living in Japan for a few years. She was at a fan signing this past weekend that also included old WWE friend Mick Foley, who posted pictures of them hanging out and said that they watched Sunday’s Money in the Bank together.

Chyna has had nothing to do with WWE since she was released by the company in 2001. A combination of an inflated ego,

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Booker T

WWE.com

One of the most popular stars from the dying days of World Championship Wrestling, Booker T is one wrestler that many fans feel should have been pushed earlier. Instead, Booker was often used more as a tag-team wrestler, right up until he broke out as a singles star in 1998.

From there, the man would go on to experience great success, eventually moving over to the WWF/WWE in 2001. Despite a shaky start (who will ever forget that match against Buff Bagwell on Monday Night Raw?), the man quickly slotted into the WWE system nicely, going on to have even more prosperity whilst under contract to Vince McMahon’s promotion.

Growing up in Houston, Texas, Booker became accustomed to having to physically defend himself, and would eventually see his rough lifestyle get him in trouble. Being jailed for aggravated, armed robbery, the future WWE Hall Of Fame inductee would
