Recovering from his injuries with a reliance on morphine Tommy, accompanied by Arthur and John, visits the Petrovnas at their London home, where, in their underground vault Tommy's new ally Alfie Solomon values the jewels with which they plan to pay Tommy though John learns that they have more sinister plans for the Shelbys. Returning to Birmingham Tommy recruits a team of tunnellers to help him steal the jewels and informs Polly, now having an affair with Ruben, that Michael knows Father Hughes of old and is prepared to kill him. Polly is not pleased at the news.

Did You Know?
David Bowie was a huge fan of Peaky Blinders. Bowie loved the show so much that he sent the production team a picture of himself wearing a razor blade-peaked flat cap. According to the Telegraph, the singer's "people" also made it clear to creator Steven Knight that he would love to feature on the soundtrack. At the scene where we see Tommy Shelby recovering from the injuries he sustained at the end of the last episode, we can listen to "Lazarus" by David Bowie whose song scored Tommy's woozy morphine-fuelled recovery. During the scene when Aunt polly gets to see her portrait for the first time she pulls off the cloth that is draped over it but when she moves to touch the painting itself she is told by the artist not to as the painting is still wet, if the painting was wet the cloth would likely do far more damage than her touch.
